Product Description The Thule 682 Sidekick Rooftop Cargo Box updates a classic design that has been proven to work by the test of time. The Thule Sidekick is a new versatile luggage box that is perfectly suited to carrying anything from camping gear to golf clubs.p The Sidekick is easy to assemble, and mounts directly to most removable and factory-installed roof racks. This cargo box has a side-opening design that facilitates easy loading and unloading, and is constructed of impact-resistant polyethylene so it has been built to last. And perhaps best of all, the Sidekick is a good looking addition to any vehicle, and comes with a load capacity of eight cubic feet so it can hold up to two sets of golf clubs. User's should note that this cargo box is not One-Key System compatible.p bWhat's in the Box?/bbr 682 rooftop cargo box, master parts bag and small parts bag with all the necessary mounting hardware, and instruction guidep bManufacturer's Warranty/bbr Limited lifetime warrantyp

Great Value, met all my needs November 26, 2008 Mary J. VOLLAND Perfect amount of extra space when we take four people on vacation with our Highlander. Does in fact hold two sets of golf clubs. Well made and easy to put together and on vehicle with two people.
As advertised November 1, 2008 Bruce Erickson (USA) Actually we were really pleased with the Cargo Box. We have a larger Thule so we have one to compare it to. We needed something distinctly smaller that would fit on top of a fully loaded CRV for a 2400 mile trip. No complaints at all. br / br /Some observations: Yes, it seems a little flimsy compared to the "real" Thule boxes but that comes with the price. It's been very durable but a little disconcerting when the suitcases bend the sides over as you take them out. There's never been any damage to the box or hardware however. br / br /We experienced some rain and not a hint of leaking. However after one hot buggy day the inside had dozens of small insects inside; the front of the Thule was plastered. Bugs got inside but no rain. Go figure. br / br /Yes, I'd buy it again. A good serviceable cargo box that does exactly what it says. Just don't think the "real" Thule when you buy this.
Great at what it is September 3, 2008 Ed Seith (Salt Lake City, UT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased the 682 on short notice because it served a need, and the price was right. Product was order and expedient shipping was requested. The cargo box arrived on the expected/promised day and was reasonably easy for me to assemble, though I could probably be considered an expert. Most would fare better, even much better, with an assistant - especially with connecting the top to the bottom. br / br /Mounting to the roof of our 2004 Dodge Durango proved impossible without purchasing the horizontal crossbeams from Dodge. Which I had to do. For another $200. It would be helpful if the product description made mention of this, as any vehicle this would be attached to MUST have horizontal (width-spanning) bars, and for most cars these are aftermarket. br / br /Once I got the braces from the local dealer and mounted those, the cargo box mounted with reasonable ease, with caveats. For one, mounting this thing to a high vehicle absolutely REQUIRES a six or eight foot ladder. It could not be mounted any other way without doing significant damage to vehicle and sanity. Also, it really needs to be mounted empty, and filled later. Some may not realize this. br / br /Some complain the product is "flimsy." This is by design. We're putting something on the roof of the car, and filling it with stuff - the idea is for it to be as light as possible without sacrificing strength or utility. It is exactly as it should be. br / br /Overall, a product I never thought I'd own, but I am happy with the purchase, and we will use it again and again. I would buy this exact product again without concern.
Fantastic . . . except for one small thing August 9, 2008 Windblown (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'd read other reviews so was ready for some challenges assembling the cargo box, but with minimal help steadying it, it went together just fine. At 16 lbs. it's light enough for me to put on my Outback by myself - and I'm a 5'4" woman who's pushing 70, although in good shape. br / br /I had a question for Tech help about keeping it on my vehicle for several months at a time that they answered promptly online. br / br /BUT . . . one small part was missing. Fortunately it was cosmetic, holding on one of the small bolt caps on the outside, because I have yet had a response from customer service, in spite of leaving word to call me 5-6 times. You get put on hold forever, and after 30 minutes or so you give up and leave a message as they keep suggesting. I was also automatically offered the opportunity to buy replacement parts, but no way I'm going to do that. It's their fault they didn't sent it, and they need to replace it.
Great system August 7, 2008 L Samson (Texas, USA) Ditto other customers who had positive feedback. We just got back from taking this box and the four bags (sold seperate) to the Grand Canyon from Central Texas. It worked great. Four full bags were a little tight, but the weight is only supposed to around 100 pounds. Assembly was quick when you follow the instructions (hint, hint :). Get the bags to go along with it they are very sturdy. Many people write the box is flimsy..it's supposed to be lightweight so they can put they heavy junk inside.
