Planet Bike Computer October 9, 2008 James E. Trost (NW Oregon) Great cyclometer. This is my second one (only because I lost the first one). Works great. Provides a lot of information. Only gripes are that the temperature sensor gets affected by direct sun, so it's not very accurate on a sunny day and setting is not real easy because you have to press buttons on the back while looking at the front. But these are both pretty minor issues for an overall good, especially for the price, computer.
Greg in Atlanta October 6, 2008 Greg from Atlanta Extremely good speedometer. Easy to read and seems to be accurate. Some say the thermometer is not accurate. Duh. If your are in direct sunlight it won't be. The only things I don't like are: 1) it seems to reset the trip odometer if you stop for fifteen to twenty minutes (ex: long stop on a century ride). Not sure why. 2) it sometimes jiggles loose from the mounting. I dropped it once while going over rough pavement. Fortunately I turned around, picked it up and shoved it back on the mount and it worked fine. 3) can't figure out how to mount it to my handlebar stem instead of the bar. Other manufacturers give the option to mount the speedometer out of the way on the stem. Would I buy it again or recommend it to a friend. Yes!
Good product at a good price October 6, 2008 E. Needleman (Mahwah, NJ) Bike computer was easy to install and calibrate. It works well and displays all the information I need including the temperature. The only mishap I can report was after taking a bad bump the computer jumped out of position and I lost the ride information. Otherwise I am very pleased with this product.
Planet Bike Protege 9.0 Bike Computer October 3, 2008 Dorothy Modafferi (Hope,ID USA) Brought this as my first bike computer because of the excellent reviews on Amazon.Tried for 2 hours to program computer without success. Attempted to call Planet Bike for tech support, but no option for tech support was offered with call. They did have email support, but I felt I needed live tech support to walk me through the programming process. Will return and probably try another brand.
Great product September 16, 2008 Drew Leino (Dubuque, IA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This little item works as good as one can. It will record your bike route information for you and has a wonderful bonus of stopping the timer if you stop! No longer trying to figure out if the 1 hr bike ride actually took 40 or 50 minutes of actual biking.
