Everyone should have this book! December 1, 2008 Jennifer L. Klass (North Carolina) this book is awesome! i wish everyone could read it and see for themselves how we create some of the migraines we have, allergies we go through etc. This book shows a great alternative for the nasty products out on the market today!!!
Green cleaning recipes November 22, 2008 V. Johnson (Arizona) This book has great information for those wanting to make your own safe, effective, and cheap cleaning products from products in your kitchen. I like that she gives several recipes for each type of cleaning product. I looked at several other books in this category, and chose this one for the simplicity of the recipes.
Still devoted... October 27, 2008 J. Wysokowski (Brooklyn, NY United States) I bought this book over the winter, but wasn't sure anything would work. I bought bottles and jars and measuring containers, etc, etc. And thought "this had better be worth it." I'm writing to say it is worth it. The mixtures you make are fantastic--sometimes better than anything you'd buy in a store. I would never, ever go back to store-bought bathtub scrub. I might revert to commercial toilet cleaners--but have switched to borax, and that seems to work. But Merlin's Magic, Alice's Wonder Spray, the scrub, are great.
Going Green October 19, 2008 Sarah (Bellingham, WA USA) This book is great! I love the reciepes and use them all the time...plus they actually work, some even better than over the counter scrubs.
Good book but poorly organized October 8, 2008 A. Gschwilm (Germany/USA) I really do love the recipes given in this book! Every one that i have tried has really worked. I also appreciate the honesty the the author uses when it comes to her rating system. The begining of the book tells you about all the scary chemicals that are in our everyday cleaning products and what harm they can do to you and/or your things. It really is horrible what they sneak in there. The whole book is very informative. The only complaint is that it isn't organized so well. When I want to know a recipe for a good floor cleaner I want to be able to just go to the front and look up "Floor cleaners" and see what page it's on and go there. Instead it is set up in like Chapters. You get a whole chapter on what's in your store bought cleaners, why it's bad, and then the homemade recipe. I just want to know exactly where the recipe is. So I have to say that the organization of the book is a bit strange.I am not a very organized person so it looks like something that I would have arranged. I would want more professional arrangement. But like I said....great book, great info and great recipes! It has helped me totaly change my cleaning habits!
