Textbook with no access code to website September 21, 2008 V. Nadi This book was the official textbook for the course I am taking but it does not come with the access code needed to get to the website. The access code is sold separately for $40.
A bit too simplistic September 15, 2008 Barbara L. Lemaster (Florida) I took a course in medical terminology as part of an online degree program, and the course utilized this textbook which, after a chapter or two, bored me to tears. br / br /The information is good if medical terminology is something you're unfamiliar with. However, I work as a medical transcriptionist and am quite familiar with many medical terms. I've also taken both high school and university-level classes in anatomy and physiology, so much of the information here simply felt like a retread of what I already knew. br / br /I didn't use the CD or flash cards that came with the textbook but, for the beginner, they might prove useful. For me, however, the book was too simplistic.
Execellent book June 16, 2008 Degrees (NJ) This book was very easy to use. It was just like vocabulary books you had in middle school. You start off learning things like prefixes, root words, suffixes etc. Then they start putting words together. It will help you understand medical terms when you break them down. The flash cards also help.
great text May 29, 2008 S. Williams (bedford, tx usa) This is a great way to learn medical terminology. It's easy to understand, interesting and presented in a way that makes it easier to learn than just straight memorization. I am planning on keeping this book and not reselling it, because I think it will be a great reference for future classes as well.
