My daughter LOVED these books! November 23, 2008 Jane My 8 1/2 year-old daughter, who tore through all seven Harry Potter books, was looking for something as absorbing to read, and was captivated by the Septimus Heap series.
Unknown surroundings and too much talk. October 26, 2008 Keith Jones (New Jersey) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
In Septimus Heap Book 1 2 there is too little detail about the background environment, where this fantasy takes place. Instead these books are bloated with dialog. The reader is left trying to picture the magical world that surrounds these wizardly characters. Read the Lord of the Rings instead.
very entertaining to read October 4, 2008 Janet D. Nichols 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
these books are very entertaining to read and any one child or adult who likes to read these kind of books would enjoy this story.
Great Books September 6, 2008 J. Upchurch 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best deal I found on the first of the series. They are great to share with the family. We read them together as a family and enjoy them as we do when we watch Harry Potter movies.
The first book is so dull July 25, 2008 ricky6985 (philadelphia) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I can only comment on the first 2/3s of the first book, because it was so dull and boring i called it quits and threw them out before i could finish both. br / br /perhaps i was spoiled after reading "his dark materials" trilogy, but there was no suspense or mystery with book #1, i had no reason to keep reading each night, no excitement to pick up the book and find out whats next.
