5 out of 5 stars Longman Reader, The (8th Edition)   September 16, 2008
Destiny M. Hulsebus
This book is really great for getting on the go with writing. I am using it in my College Writing class and I just love the way that it presents its topics. It breaks down all the steps for writing a great essay and why you do it. Then it also shows different examples, both of ameatuer writers and professional writers, which makes this book and it's context easier to apply to the reader's own writing.

5 out of 5 stars Longman Reader 8th ed.: Still the best single volume reader and rhetorical textbook on the market   October 5, 2007
John A. Santoro (CT)
Comprehensive, detailed, informative, and user friendly, the Longman Reader presents a wide ranging, cogently analyzed, and persuasively organized selection of some of the best recent and classic non-fiction writing. I know of no better resource for developing awareness of and fluency in critical reading, writing, and thinking.
