Amazon.com Review Since Robert's Rules of Order first was published in 1896, it's been the means to orderly, smooth, and fairly conducted meetings. This ninth edition of the famous manual of parliamentary procedure includes everything from the first edition, but all of the information is clarified, cross-referenced, and carefully indexed. "Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty," said General Henry M. Robert, and his gift of order is as indispensable now as it was a century ago.
Product Description
Originally published as a slim document in 1896, General Henry M. Robert's classic guide to smooth, orderly, and fairly conducted meetings has sold close to five million copies in nine editions. The only book containing the completely developed Robert's Rules of Order subject matter, this latest edition will continue the book's reputation as the gold standard of meeting procedure for parliamentarians and novice club presidents and members alike. Thoroughly revised and updated to reflect the past decade's technological advances and usage, this tenth edition contains new information on how to conduct meetings over the Internet, on phone and video conference calls, and with members in absentia. The best book from which to learn all about running and taking an effective part in meetings, General Robert's gift of order is as indispensable now as it was a century ago.
Book Description Simplified and updated version of the classic manual of parliamentary procedure; a necessary resource for churches and organizations.

Parly Pro Which Everyone Should Know September 1, 2008 D. Peterson (Michigan, USA) As a source, Robert's Rules is the definitive answer to all things parliamentary procedure. I have used this guide in all the work that I have done in the competitive realm of congressional debate. With a competitive use of these rules for academic purposes, changes have to be made to allow for a fuller use for debating teams and individuals. But when any question arises over what certain steps should be taken, no matter how unusual the circumstance, Robert's Rules has the correct and most widely accepted answers for all the parli pro that is needed. This edition, unlike so many other books which claim to answer procedure, has all the answers in a very extensive format. This work also includes helpful tables and example forms at the end of the book for easy reference, as well as a great index covering the entirety of the book if you must find a procedure which you cannot identify from the table to contents. This is a must for anyone who wants to know what to do in any environment which needs to adhere to specific parli pro!

Robert's Rules of Order.....great briefcase book! May 8, 2008 Kaye Hall (Indiana) I bought this book because I had used it previously in my employment years ago. It's a great argument solver, and there are no questions asked when you "quote" from the book. Haven't found anything it doesn't solve if you are willing to check it out.
Roberts Rules... Rules May 1, 2008 WhizKid21 (NYC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
An updated version of the classic way in which to run any disorganized meeting. This will help you get organized, but be advised, there is a lot of nuance to parlimentary procedure that you probably don't need for your local rotary club meeting. If you are intereted in parlimentary procedure, or need a lot of detail this book is great. If you are looking for a quick read to get your group organized, you might want to use "Robert's Rules in Plain English" as a quick-read, Cliff Notes-style companion.
Roberts Rules Okay April 29, 2008 KBC (Virginia, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Its good, but a little confusing for a newbie to parlimartry procedure. There seem to be a couple of references to tables that I've not located yet.
