 too complicated to install August 27, 2008
i tried to install this product, it was too complicated. i will have to have a shop install it, their add should read complicated to install
My first disappointing review on Amazon August 25, 2008

I spent over 20 hours over three weekends trying to get this software installed on my XP computer. I had to uninstall my current protective software a couple of times, I attempted installation of this software countless times. I followed all the menu driven Microsoft trouble-shooting "solutions." I did everything to the letter. When I finally got it installed - it didn't work. Whenever the program was brought up it was "not responding." Yes, I checked that my computer met all the necessary requirements, etc. Since Microsoft doesn't have people to help with software problems, and Amazon will not take opened software back - I am out the price I paid. I re-installed my free protective software.

Works well for me, although many reviewers ignore OneCare. This is my third year of renewals, and it performs as advertised. I wait for the discounted price and the rebates, and usually find the price to be zero or close to it. The program does not seem to slow down the computer, and operates in the background.

If I listened to folks at the retail outlets, I would have never bought Windows Live OneCare... they wanted me to buy other products. But I wanted to try it myself and see. Well, it has not disappointed, in fact, it has met and exceeded my expectations. I am a Norton Anti-Virus user... but their subscriptions are only available for 1 computer. I just purchased a laptop and did not want to have to buy 2 subscriptions for my pc & laptop each year.. which is what attracted me to the Windows Live OneCare in the first place. I have since installed it on both and am thrilled so far with the ease of use, security, and when it runs its scans... it DOES NOT interrupt what I'm doing or bog my computer down like Norton used to. I really enjoy the "tune-up" feature for my pc, which is old... and the tune-up does improve its performance in ways I would never get from Norton... now OneCare does it all. You won't be disappointed.

This is the best anti virus and computer secureity software that I have used. Automatically keeps your computer running at peak performance , allows you to keep track of performance on all computers in your one care circle. I fully Recommend this software.
