No Civ game since has been as fun and engrossing as Civ II December 21, 2007 Anthony Costello (Raleigh, NC) Somehow even Sid Mier has never managed to match Civ 2. This was a can't stop 'til you drop game. Apparently, some people still think it is.

A timeless game June 26, 2006 J. Gilbert (New York, NY) I just got this game this weekend and YIKES is it addictive! I got it in a bargin pack of games at Best Buy and now I'm searching for the expansion packs. Sure it's old, but it's still a fantastic game. Get it!! br /
Civ 2 stole my life December 14, 2005 Jonathan C. Pike (Canton, MA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I cannot even estimate how many hours of my life this game has consumed. I fully blame my less than stellar grades in chemistry and physics on this game. It sucks you in and won't let go. I'm happy to say I've been Civ-free for about 4 months now, but I must admit just writing this review is firing up my cravings. Oh man, maybe I'll play as the Japanese on Deity difficulty. I don't believe I've ever beat it on that level. So hard, the computer civilizations just spread like viruses! Ok, I gotta go before this gets out of hand. Suffice to say, this game is absolutely incredible, and it never grows old. I also highly reccommed playing the expansion to this, which involves the Midgard scenario. Good luck!
Great follow up October 13, 2005 Diogenes (Atlanta, Ga. United States) This game is extremely fun and addictive. Just remember, it is all about tanks.
