Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Adorama Step-Up Adapter Ring allows you to use larger size filters on lenses with a smaller diameter thread. The first number is the size that screws into the lens, the second number is the filter size.

5 out of 5 stars Anti-Vignetting   July 26, 2008
K.K (Tacoma, WA USA)
If you have a very wide to long focal length lense you may have the problem of vignetting (cutting off the corners) in your pictures when you stack filters. If you are like me and NEVER take off your UV filter so your front optic remains pristine then you will probably have this problem with polarizing filters or special effects filters. Stepping up to lager filters by at least 5mm will eliminate the vignetting problem. You will need to also buy a matching lens cap and lens shade but your pictures will be much better.

I've spent many hours comtemplating how to review this step-up adaptor. It changed my photographic life forever. How did I ever get along without this step-up adaptor is beyond comprehension. Just think about it, one day you own a really really good camera with a big lens size and then one day you buy a cheezy camera and instead of having to buy another lens you just get one of these step-up adapters. Wow, I can't believe the genius in this little device. I recommend it to everyone on the planet, especially those who take pictures.

Not the most sturdy piece of gear in my bag :}, but it does do what you expect it to do. I have ordered another adapter and opted to spend a bit more for it, but that decision was not based on the friction that occurs when screwing it onto my 18-200, but rather on my plan to leave this adapter attached to one filter that I use frequently while having the more durable (and hopefully smoother twisting) in reserve for my other filters.B + W Step-Up Adapter Ring 72mm Lens Thread to 77mm Filter Thread.

Another simple solution. Great option for using other filters. good quality and finish for the price.

I buy all 77mm filters and then use these great adapters to use my filters on my smaller lenses. A great deal!

The build quality is great.
