Amazon.com Perfect for architectural, nature, and commercial photography, the Nikon 45mm, f/2.8D lens lets you control the perspective more than with other lenses, with the ability to tilt, shift, and rotate while you shoot. The lens offers a wide shifting range--plus or minus 11.5mm--with a tilting range of plus or minus 8.5 degrees to provide exceptional perspective control. In addition, the lens revolves plus or minus 90 degrees in 30-degree increments, providing versatile tilt/shift shooting effects. As a result, you can enjoy all kinds of distorted perspectives and unique angles, giving your shots extra life. The lens is built using Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements, which offer superior sharpness and color correction by effectively minimizing chromatic aberration. Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat, meanwhile, virtually eliminates internal reflections across a wide range of wavelengths to produce even greater image clarity. Other details include a high-performance Nikon Super Integrated Coating (SIC), which offers superior color performance and substantially reduced ghosting and flare; an auto-aperture control with an electromagnetic diaphragm (requires Nikon D3, D700, or D300 D-SLR camera); and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that produces a more natural appearance for out-of-focus image elements. Product Description The Nikon Standard, Perspective Control (PC) lens features tilt, shift and rotation capability. A shifting range of 11.5mm width, with a tilting range of 8.5-degrees, provides exceptional perspective control. Incorporating an electromagnetic diaphragm, this lens provides auto aperture control when used with D3, D700 and D300 digital SLR cameras for improved operability. Nano Crystal Coat effectively reduces ghosting and flare to provide sharper, more vivid images. All PC-E NIKKOR lens with Perspective Control capability incorporate a special tilt/shift mechanism. The shift mechanism enables the lens to be moved parallel to the image plane, so that subjects such as a tall building can be captured faithfully, without the upper part appearing to tilt backward and become thinner. The tilt mechanism changes the orthogonal relationship between the optical axis of the lens and the image plane, allowing you to control the focused area. In landscape photography, you can achieve a focus throughout the entire subject plane from near to distant. You can also achieve focus on a specific part of the subject for emphasis. In actual shooting situations, the shift and tilt mechanisms are used together to adjust perspective, distortion of the subject, and focus area. 0.253m (0.83-feet) Closest Focus Distance 1/2 Maximum Reproduction Ratio Dimensions - Diameter 3.2 x Length 4.4 extension from lens mount (82.5x112mm) Weight - 740 grams (26.1 ounces)
