The BD pole chain saw works well and is a good value for the money. The extension could be longer and the blade a little more durable but all in all pretty good for the cost. I would recommend it for most but for heavy pruning I think you will need something a bit more durable.

Totally love this thing. br / br /I didn't expect too much for a "battery powered" saw. Turns out I was br /absolutely wrong. Cutting tree branches are no problem. It's br /not very good at cutting a branch that is too thin(you don't need a br /chainsaw in that situation anyway), but medium sized branchs are no br /problem -- as long as the branch is not larger than the saw. br /I even use it to cut 2x6. It takes only a few seconds to cut one 2x6. I br /guess this proves what they say:"Even a starved camel is bigger than any br /horse". Chainsaw is a Chainsaw! It's no kidding. br /

Black Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric Pole Chain Saw, 8-Inch Bar #NPP2018 br /This cordless pole chain saw saved us from paying a professional hundreds of dollars to cut down a diseased tree. It was over 30 feet tall. We reached out of the second story window and was able to cut some branches. With a ladder we were able to cut the balance top branches. It saved our energy to cut the large branches and trunk with a hand saw. Without buying a regular chain saw, this was worth every penny. It will used in the future over and over again. Thanks to the wise inventor.

I'm a woman, 5'3" and 120 lbs. I wanted something to cut branches on the trees on my property that I could be comfortable handling. This does the job and more. I could handle it no problem and it cuts up to 6" diameter branches. This is not the tool for heavy duty tree cutting jobs but it's not meant to be, it cuts slower than a traditional chain saw and it has it's limits but it was a life saver after the recent ice storm which felled several large branches off a tree in my yard and left another large branch hanging. I was able to cut the hanging branch off and cut the rest into manageable brush. It holds a charge well and I never ran out of power. This was a great purchase and I highly recommend it.

This saw works as advertised. Easy to assemble and use and not hard to handle. I use the provided small bottle to manually oil the chain after each usage. The batteries are interchangeable with other BD 18v products. The only limitation is the usage from the single battery before requiring a charge. I have two additional batteries, so this is not a problem for me , but could be for others.
