Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Tesoro Sand Shark metal combines time-proven PI circuits with the latest digital technology creating the first microprocessor controlled PI detector for the new Millennium. Pulse Induction (PI) metal detectors have always been the natural choice for working wet salt beaches. Their circuitry and single loop coils will not see changes in salt-water conductivity that drive a VLF-style metal detector crazy. Add Tesoro Electronics' exclusive interchangeable Printed Spiral coils (available in four sizes) and you create a fantastic PI detector. But they didn't stop there. The Tesoro Sand Shark metal detector has two distinct operating modes: VCO and Normal. When working in the VCO mode, as targets get closer to the coil, the threshold generates a louder, higher pitched tone great for pinpointing. The Normal mode works with a single tone and is used for beachcombing and other prolonged searches. Eight AA Alkaline Batteries, Drop-in Compartment, 10-20 hours typical. VCO Motion All Metal, Adjustable Frequency All-Metal.

5 out of 5 stars Don't buy it   March 21, 2008

Don't buy this machine. I have one and I don't want you to have it. That will leave more things for me to find. br / br /IT is a great detector. It works great in salt water and on the beaches. It is very deep being a pulse inductive machine. br / br /It will find all the metal that is there so figure on digging a lot if there is a lot of trash like pull tabs or bottle caps.
