Amazon.com Review
No forty-niner ever went prospecting with gear this classy. A perfect accessory for a metal detector, Garrett's coin-digging kit consists of a soft, leatherlike pouch and a tough plastic trowel. The pouch hangs comfortably from a belt, measures 8 by 7 inches, contains a fabric closure, and has three vertical pockets and a small zippered pocket inside. The trowel measures 12 inches long overall, and its head is calibrated to show soil depths of 1 to 5 inches. Because it's made of plastic, the trowel won't damage coins while you're excavating them. Its knobby grip won't slip when wet, and the handle end of the trowel features a hanging hole. I--Fred Brack/I
