5 out of 5 stars GREAT BUG KILLER! and Repells for a while!   September 2, 2008

a href="http://www.amazon.com/review/RP4TQBATIFWZ7"Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RP4TQBATIFWZ7/a This thing has become a bit of a blessing for me. I live in the middle of nowhere and well with this last season of rain we have seen mosquitoes by the millions it seems (ok that's probably a little exaggerated, but not to far off.) I picked this same fogger up from my local HomeDepot for a little less than on here. br / br /PROS br /I like the spark starter, nice little add to the unit (my uncle has an older one without it). br /Only about 1 minute - 1 1/2 to get hot enough. br /The tank is good but could be a little bigger (nit picking, lol). br /Black Flag seems to make good products from what I hear from friends and family that use them, and have come to find out for myself as well. br / br /CONS: br /the heating coil could use a slightly hotter/bigger burner and the could could use 1-2 more wraps I think. That seems to be the problem with this unit at this time. Granted you can still squeeze the trigger fairly fast but I would like for it to be a little hotter and able to maintain a more constant heat with a larger burner. br / br /Everything else but that simple issue is great. I wouldn't mind remodeling this unit to meet my thoughts but for now this unit does a great job. br / br /I had to use mine in a very mild wind the other day it was still effective enough to get the job done decently. Anything more than the slightest of breezes is no good for this kind of method for killing the mosquitoes though. br / br /It actually does a great job at keeping these stinking biting bugs down in numbers around the house. I normally fog the lots around the house as well as they are were these things breed in masses. I've had mine for a couple months now and it's helped a lot. The only thing is the time it takes to walk around and fog the land. When there is no wind at all it's a little harder, I do kind of like to have a very very gentle breeze because then I can stand at one side of the area and just let it slowly drift over it. br / br /LOVE BUGS: Yes the solution that black flag makes for these units also kills these pests, If you don't get blessed by these annoying pests 2 times a year like we do down here in Florida, consider yourself extremely lucky! Their guts as they get plastered all over your car will literally eat your paint if left to sit on too long!.

2 out of 5 stars Not enough heat from the burner   June 15, 2008

The instructions state that you should let the unit warm up for at least two minutes. Then, once it's hot, you are to slowly squeeze the insecticide pump trigger once every three or four seconds. br / br /The first several bursts of fog work pretty good but after that the fogger starts squirting out steaming liquid insecticide instead of fog. I find that I have to reduce the trigger squeezing rate to one slow squeeze every 15 seconds in order to maintain satisfactory fog quality. br / br /The slow rate of fog production is a problem for me as I have a large yard and the rate of fog production, being less than what the manual claims should be happening, is not satisfactory. For a small yard this unit might put out enough fog. br / br /I've tried two brand-new propane cylinders and have fiddled with the flame adjustment knob to no avail. I think if the unit had a slightly bigger burner or a larger propane orifice it would work much better.

2 out of 5 stars Woorks very good if you can keep it lit   April 20, 2008

The fogger works very well if you can keep it lit. The igniter is ok, but from the first use, it has been hard to keep the flame on no matter what setting I use (high or low). Doesn't seem to matter if there is a breeze or not and I have also tried different propane canisters. Typically the flame will only stay on for a few seconds before going out. Trying to get the fogger hot enough to produce a fog by lighting it over and over every few seconds doesn't work well (minimal fog) br / On the few occassions that I have gotten the flame to stay on long enough to heat up, it produces a great fog that clears my back yard of bugs, at least for a short time. br / All in all, I can'r recommend the item and will likely given an electric fogger a try nex. br /

4 out of 5 stars Good Fogger   January 1, 2008

Fogger works pretty good. Best used when its not windy or wet. It gets b/w all the shrubs and hard to reach areas. The fog wont kill bugs right away but it does kill. I took out a wasps nest with it. They were not happy when I sprayed them. 30min later there were dozens of dead wasps on the ground. The only bad thing I would say is that the igniter is kinda cheap. It doesnt always ignite the propane. You sometimes have to click it a few times to get it to light or just use an open flame. The insecticide is also kind expensive. But the product does what its suppose to and havent had any problems with it.

1 out of 5 stars Spend your money elsewhere   July 16, 2007

I am tired of getting bit by mosquitos. Purchased this and have used it with minimum results. I live in South Texas where there is always at least a small breeze, so that may explain why there is such a lack of efficacy since the "fog" dissipates in the wind. Even when I have sprayed the mist directly on top of a mosquito sitting on the ground I watched it fly off. I am not sure what works on mosquitos, but I can assure you even when following all of the directions this product DOES NOT work for me.
