"Da Bomb" of a flashlight. November 19, 2008 John E. Pombrio (Manchester, CT United States) This flashlight is essentially one of the new HID white car headlights in a portable form. When pointed towards the ceiling, it will light up a whole room as if the lights were on. Great during a blackout. When used outside, the broad beam will light up an object as far away as a city block. br / The flashlight will stay lit for about an hour and a half before it needs to be recharged. it has a nice set of LEDs to show the charge. br / br /This is one terrific flashlight!
True Xenon HID Arclight October 17, 2008 Contrablue 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you've seen the newer bluish headlights on cars, then you know what a HID (high-intensity-discharge) light is all about. This spotlight has the same time of bulb. The bulb is a glass rod with a small hollow glass sphere, perhaps 1cc, in the middle. That sphere is filled with Xenon, which is turned into a blinding white hot plasma by high-voltage electricity. br / br /Even though you may have seen headlights with the same type of bulbs, this spotlight with its large parabolic reflector will probably be the brightest light source you have ever handled (unless you like to play with industrial lasers). If someone shines this light on you, from a distance of 1/4 mile, you will be stunned...convinced that law enforcement has got you covered! Therefore, aside from being a very practical light source, it is also a great security device and a deterrent for prowlers. br / br /Shop around, you will be able to find one for alot less. I did.
Great light October 7, 2008 Mark A. Luke I am very impressed with this light. I am in Law enforcement and work in the Marine Unit and this light has been used during many rescues.....only noticed one problem the cables that connect to the battery are very short and if they come loose are impossible to reconnect.....I had to rewire and extend them....but otherwise what a great light for the money.....I own 3 now.
Bright Light July 29, 2008 Radar Tech (Southern California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
What a bright light. I mean this thing will blind you. It will totally blow away a quartz type light. I own two of these lights and am totally sold on them. Good product. I got mine for under $ 40.00 bucks, now I noticed that they have gone up in price. Grab one when the price gets a little lower.
The Brightest Light I've Ever Owned October 23, 2007 Brian M. Mccue 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Full Disclosure - I'm a flashlight/lantern collector (aka "GEEK"). I own many differing lights from incadescents to fluorescents to LEDs, and now to HIDs. This is by far the brightest light I've ever owned! Yes it is a bit bulky, and yes the replacement bulb is supposedly VERY expensive (I don't know how much), but it simply kicks butt. It is so bright that I believe it could actually cause eye damage. br / br /By the way, I bought mine at Sam's Club for $35.
