Unreliable and not bright June 21, 2008 Michael Reed (New Kensington, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While somewhat stylish, even pretty, these lights are shoddily manufactured. Two of the six failed right out of the box due to (a) a missing set of battery terminals AND the battery (manufacturing quality control, anyone?), and (b) loose and unaccessible junctions for the battery (and also, somehow, not being water-tight so it wouldn't work in the rain, on the off-chance that the junctions actually made contact). br / br /The light output is less than I expected, as well, as they only have one medium-to-low brightness blue-white LED. This makes them perfect for marking the border of a path, but not to the point of illuminating a walkway. Caveat emptor.
Failed to live up to reviews September 3, 2007 chumply (MA, US) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I checked reviews before ordering and these appeared to have a higher rating, though some warning were noted. I gave them to my father for his birthday, two of the six were not functioning upon receipt and one only worked when he put his hand over the sensor, but night at night time. I am still hoping they do him right and are fair with replacement. If not, you all will hear about that too.
Weak lights, some burnt out upon receipt - do NOT order these lights! August 1, 2007 D. Sanchez (Davis, CA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
First of all, I'm a fan of Amazon; but this purchase was one of the worst purchases I can remember! br / br /Do NOT buy these lights!! I read the reviews in Amazon and they were glowing reviews. However, after a much delayed delivery (DHL was the carrier and they took forever and could not provide tracking information) that I had to pay for even though it was over Amazon's $25 limit (because it was being supplied through a third party), I finally received them and half the lights were burnt out! More importantly, the LED lights in the ones still functional provided barely enough light to be any use. A single candle provided more illumination power. Then, when I decided to return them I got hit with even more bad news: S/H I would have to pay and also incur a re-stocking fee. In the end, it would've been more trouble to return and I didn't want to sink anymore costs. br / br /Word to the wise: shop these types of lights from a store you can walk into, which you can return defective and inadequate products to.

Very Good Solar Lights April 17, 2007 M. Jenkins (Buffalo, NY) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
[...] br / br /Here's what I like about them: br / br /1 - They're metal - I can't tell you how many times I've broken those cheap plastic ones when I was trying to put them into the ground br /2 - LED Lights - they have a nice white glow to them, instead of the crappy yellowish glow that normal bulbs put off br /3 - The Packaging - EVERYTHING they use for packaging is recyclable (cardboard plastic bags that are clearly marked with the recycle logo/info)
