I set up the trap in the morning and caught a groundhog that day. I then set up the trap the following weekend, and that night I caught a racoon. The trap is so easy to let the animal free, you come nowhere near the animal. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a pest problem with a larger animal.

The first time I used this trap the cable that opens/shuts the trap door snapped, making the trap unuseable. The cable was held in place by a tiny clamp which popped off. The mechanism for attaching and holding the cable in place needs to be made more durable. I would not recommend this trap.

Trap arrived quickly from MD in good condition, but it is shipped only in its retail box with no outer packaging. The cardboard box was ripped in a couple places but there was no damage to cage. Cage is set by sliding the handle on top toward the rear until it snaps in place. That's it - it's set!! I also like the solid plate covering the entire top of the cage for extra protection in handling. Now for those groundhogs.
