Amazon.com Product Description Originally manufactured by Coleman from 1954 to 1994, the classic steel-belted cooler makes a comeback in a big way as part of the company's centennial tradition. The original steel-belted cooler was revered for its traditional look, feel, and strength, as well as its amazing performance. This time around, however, Coleman made it even better by updating the design, adding a stainless-steel lid, case, and hardware, and beefing up the insulation. The result is a cooler that bests the competition by a wide margin. The 54-quart cooler's construction features include a stainless-steel lid and case that provide durability and protection for your food items; large, sturdy stainless-steel handles with rubber comfort grips for easy transport; a new solid-steel latch that seals better while still securing the contents; and stainless-steel hinges and screws that resist rust and breakage. p On the inside, the cooler includes a durable base and liner that are easy to clean, along with a leakproof, rust-resistant drain that empties quickly. Completely redesigned for today's active lifestyles, the cooler measures 24.25 by 16.75 by 16.75 inches (W x H x D) and carries a limited six-year warranty.p strongAbout Coleman/strongbr The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.p

Coleman Steel Cooler November 11, 2008 Paul R. Reilly (Madison, WI) We purchased the Coleman Steel Cooler as a gift for our son. It arrived in good condition and was what we had expected it to be. He was very happy with it.
Keeps food cold but heavy even before filling September 9, 2008 Sandy Bird 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The cooler looks good and does its job in terms of keeping food/drinks cold for days. On our recent trip, it kept our food cold for 3 days before we had to replace the ice. However one major drawback for me is that the cooler is really heavy. When it's empty it's heavy so imagine the weight once its loaded. It requires at least 2 people (and with drinks it required 3 of us to carry it). If it was lighter and had wheels I'd probably give it 5 stars.
Coleman Steel Band Wrapped Cooler August 8, 2008 Vermont Tool Man (Delaware Vermont) I've been waiting for these to become available again. I remember when they first came out in 2001 as the special 100th aniversary limited edition. My neighbor got one in the Spring and I was so impressed with how well the cooler kept beverages cold, I just had to get one. Alas, they sold out so quickly and it seemed that whenever one was available somewhere, it'd be gone before I could get it. br / br /I'd been looking to get one from Amazon since last year and again the frenzy from everyone wanting them kept causing this cooler to be sold out frequently. I placed an order for it four (4) times and every time I thought I'd be getting it, an email would arrive a few days later stating the stock was depleted. br / br /Well, finally I saw them on Amazon again, (at a really good price too!), so I bought it and actually got one. Now everyone that sees it marvels at the clean appearence and sharp looking design. Not to mention how well it keeps MY beverages cold. Needless to say, I'm pleased with the Coleman Steel Belted Cooler and plan on having it for years to come. br / br /Now back to some "yard work" so I can enjoy a frosty cold beverage when I'm done!
4200 miles on motorcycle camping trip July 19, 2008 Zachary D. Glutz Did great being pulled behind my motorcycle on a cooler rack. Kept ice cold in sun at 95 degrees.
Cadillac of coolers July 13, 2008 M. Romano This cooler does keep ice from melting for several days--not "completely", but it is a cooler for heavens sake, not a freezer. Drain the water out daily and the ice lasts even longer. Far superior to anything else on the market and looks great to boot. I keep it in the back of my truck and purchase one or two 8 lb. bags of ice for it weekly. The interior of the cooler maintains ice and stays cool for almost the entire week in 90+ degree heat (probably well over 100 in the enclosed car)... definitely long enough for me to do my weekly shopping and to carry my kids drink cups around every day during the summer (keep lunch for the pool cool, etc). Can't be beat.
