5 out of 5 stars Easy to Use, works great.   August 27, 2008
Barbara (Friendswood, Texas, USA)
We had purchased a Biovault (the bigger one from the same company) a couple of months back and we noticed they had a smaller more portable one. So we bought the Biobox with the mounting bracket on Amazon and so far we have no compaints. You put your fingerprints in and so far it seems to open every time. Seems fairly rugged as ours took a pretty good drop the other day. We used the mounting bracket and mounted it in the floor board of my car. You can easily attach and remove the box with a thumbscrew inside. The box operates on regular AA batteries and we don't know what the battery life will be like for it, we'll update this review later with that. Overall this product is a great idea and so far well worth the money.

1 out of 5 stars Can't take the heat   July 30, 2008

I left this thing in my truck in Texas and after 3 days it just died. It obviously can't take the heat of a car in the summertime. Glad I didn't have an emergency! What a piece of garbage.

4 out of 5 stars Works great, no problem reading prints   July 23, 2008

I haven't had any problems with this thing reading my wife's prints or mine. The unit is pretty sturdy and seems to be constructed well. To open it you press a button and then swipe your finger over the reader. There is a beeping noise when you press the button however and I read a complaint about this somewhere. It's easy enough to disable the speaker though, all you do is disconnect the wire leading to it and viola. So far I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it. I paid about 157 for it shipped off ebay. Hope this helps.
