awesome little machine October 4, 2008 Lynn Penner (Lake Norman, NC) I've owned this pencil sharpener for almost three weeks now and I love it!!! It is heavy duty and sharpens pencils to a very nice point. I also like the way that it stands up high and has a vertical feature, entering the pencil from the top rather than the front. It doesn't slip when you sharpen the pencils either. I would suggest this model for moderate to heavy use of sharpening pencils. The kids use it for their pencils, as well as me for my teaching, in which I sharpen approx 20 extra pencils a week for my class. What an awesome little machine!!!
Better than the others September 24, 2008 Judy L. Neumann (Minneapolis, MN USA) We purchased a Boston electric sharpener 8 years ago for our shop and were satisfied with the performance, but didn't like the fact that you had to feed it from the side, as it tends to "walk". So when we decided to purchase an electric sharpener for the office, we wanted a top feed model. We purchased an X-acto first, and were very disappointed with the performance. Then we tried a Royal brand (model 29332T)--it had a 13 year warranty, so we figured there was a good chance it would be a good one. It was worse! Terrible finish (fuzzy wood) and the point was off center no matter how we fed the pencil in. After reading reviews on Amazon we decided to give this Panasonic a try. We were very pleased with the quality of the cut and the lead comes out centered. It stops the pencil feed once the point is sharp much better than the others, too. The previous models we purchased claimed to have a stop on them, but the pencil continued to get shorter. With the Panasonic, when it is done it is done. From our experience, I think this is probably the best in its price range, or at least among the best. If we purchase another for our home office, it will be this one.
Worst sharpner I have ever used September 4, 2008 Disgruntled (New York, NY USA) The unit I received was off center and sharpened the pencil only on one side so I had to turn the pencil around and around just to be able use it at all. And then it broke altogether after sharpening less then 50 pencils. Then the seller refused to replace it because it was after 30 days. Never again will I buy a Panasonic product.
Panasonic August 13, 2008 LizR (Perth Amboy, NJ) This is the only pencil sharpener that has ever been acceptable, or worth the price. The others I've tried do not stand up to the performance. It may be just my misfortune but I've had to buy a replacement every year. There is no substitute in my opinion though.
Good Choice August 12, 2008 Carol W. Trump (Oregon) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Couldn't be happier with the sharpener I selected. As an artist, sharpened drawing pencils are a must, and this "baby" does the job.
