I purchased this where I work for the second year running and love it. Being a long time Coke fan, this year's version is very special, and better in some ways than last year. While the bottom calendar portion has gotten just a bit smaller, the dates are still large enough to be easily read. And having the weekdays written in a nostalgic looking italic rather than plain block letters is nice indeed. br / br /The back of the front cover still has the "Dates to Remember" feature for birthdays, anniversaries, and special events, and plenty of room for a year full of them! What gives this calendar the edge over last year's version is an even more prominent aura of nostalgia. Behind the colorful duplications of famous Coke art from days and decades passed, the background they are imposed upon is really something special. br / br /Old black and white photos of Americana adorn the top portion, lending some very real nostalgia to the calendar. They are places Coke was once sold; every place from hardware and department stores to lunch counters and grocery markets are represented. There is almost a sepia tone to the photos and there is no mistaking that we are taking a romantic look at America's past. br / br /At a time when we are getting back to basics out of economic necessity, it is nice to be reminded there was much that was wonderful about those times as well. This 2009 Coke calendar is an especially nice reminder of that very thing.
