65dB of clean gain--just what I needed July 5, 2008 P. Ferron (Dallas, TX USA) My Alesis io14 interface has decent preamps, but not enough gain to get good recording levels with the mics I use. I didn't want to spend hundreds on a mic preamp, so I thought I'd give one of these a try. (If it turned out to be a bust, I wouldn't be out much $$$.) When I first fired up the ART Tube MP PS it sounded like popcorn (literally loud snaps and pops, which the filter took care of) but that may have been an initial burn-in issue--after a couple of hours all was well. Since then I've been pleasantly surprised with the clean gain all the way up to the max. Now I'm back to buy another for my 2-channel podcasting setup.
