| Customer Reviews:
Works great with HP Deskjet 722C, except .... May 9, 2007 Former Yooper (Planet New Mexico) I got this on clearance at Walmart for 16 bucks! Had just bought a spanking new computer system with Windows Vista. Couldn't decide on a printer. Found out by using a bidirectional USB to Parallel port cable I could possibly use my HP with my new system. Hooked everything up the computer system installed the printer for me. Didn't have to do a thing. The only things I noticed is that there was only an option for installation for HP Deskjet 720C rather than 722C, which is what my printer is ... and I used to be able to do double-sided printing with my old Windows 98SE system .... with my new system (Windows Vista), I cannot. Still, it's enough to get me by until I can decide on a new all in one printer. If anyone is leary about using these cables, don't be. They work! Just allow your Windows Vista system to do the installation for you!
Makes paralletl printer plug and play with Windows 2000 or XP-has driver for 98 February 25, 2007 Zoo Keeper (USA) I have Windows XP, a laptop with USB ports only (no parallel), and a Laserjet 6p. Plug the Cent36m end of cable into the printer's parallel port and turn the printer on. Insert the USB end into a port on the computer. Windows XP recognized it, and installed the printer. It's that simple. br / br /A mini-CD in included and has the driver for Windows 98. The manual is also on that CD. Please note, that the CD works only with drives that have a center-piece that the CD snaps onto similar to the center piece in a jewel case. APC does have a web site if you have any questions or need more information. br / br /This product is ideal for using a parallel printer with a laptop which only has USB ports. This is a lot less expensive alternative than buying a new printer! However, the information that comes with the product says using this cable is faster than a parallel to parallel connection too. :-).
