I'm very impressed with this system. On my initial test I was able to get about 60 feet from the receiver while wearing the transmitter and had crystal clear sound -- and that was two rooms away and not a direct line of sight to the antenna. The audio quality itself sounds very full and rich, and certainly not tinny. My camera doesn't have a shoe, so the receiver will have to be clipped to the strap, since I don't really want to use the enclosed velcro pads, but for what I'll be using this for, that's no problem. I bought this based on the previous 20 reviews, almost all of which were good, and am really glad I did the research. A great buy for the money.
 Does not work with fluid head tripods October 21, 2008

The unit works fine but when I set it up on my fluid head tripod it creates MAJOR static every time I move the tripod head (and only when I move the tripod head). On my cheap plastic tripod the reception is fine, when I use the wireless on my expensive fluid head tripod there is MAJOR static. Engineering support could not help me. I am sending the unit back. I shoot weddings and if you use a decent tripod (Manfroto), the unit may not work for you.

This remote mic works just like it says, it has very clear reception at a reasonable distance. I would recommend to anyone needing this type of product. Not only did it pick up the sound from the mic, but ambient sounds came in even clearer than the mic on the camera.
