Wish I'd listened: this one breaks my heart December 29, 2008 Nathan Beauchamp (Oak Park, IL USA) Sarah McLachlan is on of my favorite female vocalist, right up there with Loreena McKennitt and Aimee Mann. I bought this CD despite the reviews citing its poor audio quality. It really couldn't be that bad could it, I thought. Well it is that bad. It's unlikeable because of the terrible pitchy highs. Sarah deserved much better than this. Stay away from this one. You're much better off buying her original albums one at a time (if you get them used they are pretty cheap) and assembling your own list of 'best of' tracks by ripping them to your computer (I rip using FLAC file type so there is no loss in quality). br / br /Sarah is awesome. The producers of this CD are terrible. Don't make the same mistake I did. Skip this one.
Fantastic album December 28, 2008 Tiffani (Richmond, Va) I have been a Sarah McLachlan fan for many, many years now. Her voice is incredibly soothing and her lyrics are always thought provoking. This album does a fabulous job of bringing together some of her best hits from even her earliest album and placing them alongside her most current releases. It definitely showcases the true Sarah style with a beautiful combination of music that won't disappoint.
Good intro if you are new to Sarah December 23, 2008 Patrick (Honeoye NY USA) This CD is exactly what you would expect from a greatest hits collection. All of her big songs are there, as well as some other gems and if you are new to Sarah this is a great start. br / br /For me she has always been one of those few artists who are much better live than with all that studio polish. For that reason I still have to go with Mirrorball over this collection for the best picture of who she is as an artist.
Closer--The Best of Sarah McLachlan December 22, 2008 Ricardo E. Alvillar (Anchorage AK USA) New (to me), interesting artist with more sophisticated lyrics; but, a style akin to Joan Baez.
Closer to my heart December 21, 2008 Evelyne-valerie N. D. Arnal (Great Falls, Montana) Sarah has a unique voice and I was really looking forward to a compilation of her work. Listening to "U Want Me 2" ~ This song is especially close to my heart for it speaks the words I cannot express in my own personal sorrow and loss. It is as though she channels on a spiritual wave of human emotions. Thank you Sarah!
