Product Description Originally designed to meet the demands of professional chefs, All-Clad continues to be the undisputed choice in four-star kitchens throughout the world. The cookware has exquisite lines, impeccable balance, meticulous hand-finishing, and superior heat-conductivity. The cookware features a unique metal bonding construction in which a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum is sandwiched between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware, eliminating hot spots when cooking. The stainless interior is stick-resistant and cleans easily. The magnetic stainless steel exterior gives the cookware a gleaming finish and allows it to be used on conventional gas and electric ranges, as well as on induction cooktops. The saucier is the ideal pot for preparing tomato sauce or risotto. The wide, gently sloped sides help to cook off excess liquid, while the sauce pan-like depth ensures that sauces won't dry out too quickly. Slightly rounded corners on the bottom of the saucier make it easy to whisk sauces, soups, and pastry cream and to stir risotto. The saucier has a long, stay-cool handle attached with non-corrosive, stainless steel rivets and a lid fashioned from polished 18/10 stainless steel that fits even with the pan's edges to seal in the flavour of foods. 5 quart/5.2 litre capacity. Oven safe to 500 F. Lifetime warranty. Dishwasher safe, or wash with warm, soapy water. To remove stuck-on food or discolouration and stains resulting from using too high heat, clean using Bar Keeper's Friend stainless steel cleanser. Do not use scouring pads, steel wool, abrasive cleansers, bleach, or oven cleaners.
Amazon.com Review The bestseller among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections, the Stainless line provides serious and professional cooks all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between layers of stainless steel is a thick core of pure aluminum that spreads heat evenly across the bottoms of pots and pans and all the way up the sides. The interior is 18/10 highly polished stainless steel, so it's stick-resistant as well as stain- and corrosion-resistant. The exterior is gleaming, magnetic stainless steel that works on induction as well as conventional stovetops, and, with care, remains beautiful during this cookware's lifetime warranty against defects--and beyond. This classic, versatile 5-1/2-quart saucier has rounded sides, which increase the amount of food it can hold relative to the diameter of its bottom. Because the aluminum core extends up the sides of this pan, foods cook uniformly, even though it's 4-1/2 inches deep. Because the interior is nonreactive, tomato-based sauces and other acidic foods won't taste metallic. Its polished 18/10 stainless-steel pan and lid handles are riveted for strength and grooved on the top for comfort. Like the helper handle, the pan's long handle (holed for hanging on a hook or peg) stays cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. Although Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

Pot great, condition unacceptable October 10, 2008 ChiChi (San Francisco) The 3 quart saucier I bought was sold by Amazon. It was the last one available. When it arrived the lid was bent and there were very noticable dings inside the pot. Looking at the packaging of the lid, it was clear this package had been opened before. Others have complained on Amazon of suspecting that defective items had been shipped out before and returned and then shipped to them again. I suspect this was the case with this item. Return is simple, if you consider packaging the whole thing up again and hauling it to a UPS store simple. I'm going to go to Macys and buy the cassoulet, which is the same pot with different handles for less money. Couldn't find the 3 quart saucier locally, which is why I ordered it here. Won't order any more kitchenware on Amazon.
My new favorite pan! August 21, 2008 A. Josephs (New York, NY) Such a beautiful and useful shape. I have the 5-1/2 quart. It is a perfect size between a saucepan and stock/pasta pot. It has a wide bulb that is great for cooking stews, rice, sautes and of course sauces.

All-Clad Stainless is the best around. This large sized saucier pan is great for making sauces and other favorite dishes. Makes a great gift for those chef's you know. Can't go wrong here.
Now with pour spouts March 8, 2008 Justin G. Cramer (Chicago, IL USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I picked up this pan at a local foodie shop. I was pleased to see that All-Clad has improved the model this year. It now includes a pour spout on either side of the rim. The other reviewers are right on the money with the quality and versatility of this pan. I like this pan so much I am struggling to keep my self from buying a second one rather than diversifying my set.
I love it! February 11, 2008 Ron (Minnesota) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I make a lot of sauces. The rounded sides make it easy to stir the sauce and the cladded sides provide even heat distribution - don't know how I got along without it. Also great for small quantities of vegetables. I recommend it unqualifedly - 5 stars all the way
