 Frustratingly damaged October 2, 2008

I ordered this item despite the warnings that many have received it damaged. I wish I hadn't bothered. On the first one the one shelf was barely hanging on so I went through the hassle of returning it for a replacement. The second one I received was damaged in the same exact spot however not as bad. I have given up on it altogether now and am forced to find other ways to organize my desk.

I ordered the Dolce hutch and desk for my grandson. He was very specific about what he wanted. I had purchased the exact same hutch and desk at a garage sale for my granddaughter a few years ago, and my grandson loved it and wanted one just exactly like it. After lots of searching on the internet, I found the hutch and desk on Amazon. The hutch arrived broken (in several pieces); it was returned and another hutch was shipped to us. It was broken as well (also in several pieces); it was returned and antoher hutch was shipped to us. The third hutch was fine and he loves it. Neither of the boxes were damaged, so the hutches were not damaged in shipment, but were, apparently, defective when they left the warehouse of the manufacturer. Final product is fine, but it was very difficult to get one that was not defective.

There were a minor split piece, but it didn't show. This was easy to assemble as there were few parts. I love the look and convenience of the hutch with the desk.

It is a good one, but since I am a big guy, it seams can no fit me very well, but to tell the truth, it is good one

This was exactly waht I wanted as far as design. The only problem I see is that you have no way of attaching it to the desk. My husband had to drill holes in it in order to attach it to the matching desk. I quess you could just sit it on top, but not very secure that way.
