 Beautiful screen for the price January 2, 2009

This screen looks exactly the same as ones I've seen in retail stores for more than twice the price. As with most inexpensive Shoji screens, the material is thin and you need to be careful when moving it. As long as you're careful to always grab by the wood, and position it somewhere where no one will put a fist through it, it's not a problem. br / br /Also, like other inexpensive screens, the material is all on one side of the wood pattern. That means that it looks much nicer from one side than the other. You'll find the same is true of all mass-produced Shoji screens, though. br / br /The hinges are bi-fold, giving a lot of positioning flexibility. I have one positioned in a corner with a couple of cheap lamps behind it, which gives a nice diffuse ambient light. br / br /Note that the cherry finish is a bit darker than shown in the picture. I was glad for this, as it means that it matches my cherry-finished furniture, but be aware that the lighting in the photograph must be very bright to make it look like that.

The fabric was ripped when it arrived, and has ripped easily since. I don't even know if it can be called fabric, it seems like a synthetic gauze type stuff. I do love how they look, and will serve their purpose for years I hope. Definitely worth it despite my negative remarks.

I bought this item and unfortunately it arrived damaged. The company shipped me another one which came in perfect condition. I have this in my living room and the colors and style of this match my furniture perfectly. No matter who comes into my house I always receive compliments. It's a great piece to decorate with.

Delivery took a little longer than expected, but the company was right on top of things by notifying me in advance. I was pleased with that. The Room Divider arrived well packed and no assembly was needed. The finish on the wood looks great and it accents the room well with a good quality. From a side angle only, one of the wood-frame pieces is warped by about 3/4" of an inch, but from being in the room, it's not noticeable. You'd have to walk up to the side of it and eyeball it to notice.
