Product Description
Individually crafted in Vermont, these natural, native hardwood bowls inherit the natural markings of the parent tree's grain pattern, each a unique display of beauty. Every bowl starts from a solid log block of natural black cherry wood and is cut by a series of saws and lathes to create the correct size and shape. Each bowl undergoes an environmentally-controlled drying process for several weeks to prevent cracking and warping. Upon completion of this process, the bowls are sanded, inspected for quality, and finished with a mineral oil rub. There is no waste in the creation - all remaining wood elements are recycled into firewood and animal bedding. Each nest includes 3 bowls in the following sizes: Largest - 11.75" diameter x 3.5" depth, Medium - 9.75" diameter x 2.75" depth, Smallest - 7.75" diameter x 2" depth. Product Care (for all wood products): Wood bowls should not be soaked in water or used in a dishwasher or microwave. To clean the surface, a wet cloth or non-abrasive scrub pad should be used. Following cleaning, dry the surface with a dry cloth. For all wood products utilized for kitchen use (including bowls, cutting boards and utensils), it is recommended an occassional coating of mineral oil be applied (to the wood surface only) This process preserves the moisture content of the wood. Cherry wood will naturally darken with age.
