Product Description The Toddy Maker is a simple device that uses cold water and a carefully designed filter system to produce an exceptionally pure coffee concentrate from ground coffee. The advantages of coffee brewed with the Toddy Maker make it a popular choice among both individuals and the food service industry. Cold water brewing extracts the desirable flavor elements, but eliminates many of the undesirable oils and acids found in hot brewed coffee that are not soluble at low temperatures. Cold brewed coffee tastes smoother and is easier on the stomach. Toddy coffee has been recommended by doctors to their patients who are sensitive to the acid in hot brewed coffee. The original Toddy Maker consists of a plastic brewing container with a plug and filter at the bottom. One pound of regular grind coffee and nine cups of cold water are added and allowed to steep for eight to twelve hours. The plug is then removed and the resulting concentrate is allowed to drain through the filter into a glass carafe which is also provided. The grounds are then disposed of (they make good compost) and the filter rinsed thoroughly. The concentrate must be refrigerated. To make a cup of hot coffee simply mix one part concentrate with three parts water and heat in the microwave. To make iced coffee mix one part concentrate with three parts water and serve over ice. The concentrate is good for about three weeks in the refrigerator, and can be frozen for several months

Fabulous January 7, 2009 BH By Far this is the best product to brew coffee with. I discovered how to do this when buying coffee from our local roaster. I recommend this to anyone who loves a smooth rich cup of joe!
Smooth rich coffee December 27, 2008 Catherine Twohig Using fresh ground dark roast coffee beans does make a difference. The end product is smooth, rich and tasty. I liked the cold brew results so well I drank it black - normally I add milk to my coffee. I am trying a second cold brew with the same ground coffee beans we just used. If it works we have doubled our yield. So far - I would recommend this product and am glad we purchased it ourself.
This thing is great December 2, 2008 John James (Alabama) If u like cold or hot coffee this is the way to go. after making your coffee, i suggest u put some Vanilla Extract in the pot and let it sit. (a friend goes to mexico and gets the mexican vanilla, says its the best, but i just used what ever i had in cabinet) A friend works for a coffee shop in New Orleans and they say this is 'there' little secret. it can be added to the whole pot or just to a cup. if u put it in the whole mixture use about a teaspoon, or just a splash in ur cup. Enjoy!
GaCoffeeMan November 30, 2008 A. Carter (Georgia) Get ready for the best coffee you've tasted. No more metalic/burnt taste from home coffee makers. My wife's friend gave this to us a few years ago, and I snickered at the idea of cold brewed coffee. My wife made a pot anyway and it was fabulous. The coffee has a vastly better flavor than with traditional heat-source coffee makers. Layers upon layers of flavor. I drink my coffee black, so sugar and milk cannot hide imperfections in my cup. After discovering this coffee maker, I can no longer drink my office-made coffee, and I drive right past the Starbucks every morning. To make the best coffee, you need to find a full pound bag of coffee - when you look at the grocery or coffee store (or internet), you'll be surprised to discover how few manufacturers still use a pound. There are some still out there, however. Look closely. We've discovered a brand from Louisiana that we love, and that our grocer carries in one pound bags. You can make with less than a pound of coffee, but it requires a little bit of guesswork as to how much water to use. br / br /If you love coffee, then you will not regret trying the Toddy cold brew coffee maker!
Coffee Toddy is soooo good. November 26, 2008 String Bean (Washington State) I agree that there should be a lid to put on it but aside from that the coffee you get is so smooth and wonderful I could never go back to drip coffee. We are hooked. I really like the fact that it is less acid. We have tried decaf and it is just as good. I have recommended it to several friends. Try it you will like it. It is worth the little extra that you have to pay.
