Product Description Slicing fresh bread usually results in a crushed loaf rather than neat, clean slices. This bread knife features a extra-sharp serrated blade that makes an exception to the rule, gliding through bread for perfect, sandwich-worthy slices. Lifetime warranty.
Amazon.com Review Measuring 8-1/4 inches, the long narrow blade of Komachi's bread knife features a sharp, serrated edge ideal for cutting through everything from rustic artisan bread to moist banana bread. The knife is equally appropriate for dessert items, comfortably divvying birthday sheet cakes or thin slices of pear tart. The knife hides whimsical, bread-shaped cutouts beneath its handle. p This unique collection--by renowned blade manufacturer KAI in Seki City, Japan--offers practical kitchen cutlery in cheerful colors. Durable, high-carbon, stainless-steel blades featuring a fluorinated-resin coating offer hygienic food handling. The lightweight knife does not have a bolster but feels balanced thanks to the full tang. Clear, Ionomer-resin handles in coordinating hues are ergonomically designed and fit comfortably in hand. Made in Japan and measuring 13 by 1-1/2 by 3/4 inches overall, this bread knife is dishwasher-safe but hand washing is recommended. i-- Amy Arnold/i

first review ever because its a great knife November 19, 2008 Lawrence C. Walden (Peaks Island, ME USA) Great bread knife! I finally replaced the long sereated bread knife my mother gave me 40 years ago. The fancy kitchen store clerk let me buy this one, after I told her I would not pay over $40. This is a wonderful tool. I wish I'd bought it years ago, and I may use it for the next 40 years.
Awesome bread knife! September 13, 2008 E. Schuetz It cut through hard rolls like a dream. By far the best bread knife EVER! This collection of knives work great and are fun. They're hanging on my wall on a magnetic strip and they really brighten up my kitchen. It's also comforting to know that they are made by Shun, an amazingly reviewed Japanese company. A little more affordable and fun than their classic knives. I have to buy all the colors!!
GREAT KNIFE! August 31, 2008 Ellen Plotkin (Brooklyn, N.Y. USA) Cuts through all breads and sandwhiches extremly clean. Can be used for tomatoes and veggies. Excellent knife. Crumbless cutting!
Cuts great - Terrible Coating May 30, 2008 Kirsten (La Jolla, CA United States) The coating peeled off this knife within a month of owning it. After flakes of the coating started getting in food, I had to throw it away. A complete waste of money.
Surprisingly good knife! May 12, 2008 Thomas Vaughan (Seattle, WA USA) What a cool knife! It looks good, and cuts great. br / br /I bought one of these for someone else. I thought this was an inexpensive and handy item to have. But now that I've used it a few times, I've ordered one for myself as well! I've used my old bread knife for years, but once I used this one I realized my old one just wasn't cutting it (no pun intended). br / br /Before, I had to be very very careful when cutting bread, lest crumbs fly everywhere, or I'd crush the bread. With this knife, you glide right through even tough crusts and can cut even slices without crushing the bread or making a mess.
