NICE SET, NORMAL CARE August 1, 2005 RENAISSANCE MAN (san antonio, tx United States) 9 out of 14 found this review helpful
THIS IS A NICE SET OF CUTLERY FOR UNDER $100. EVEN THE STEAK KNIVES ARE QUITE NICE, UNLIKE SOME OF THE CHEAP STEAK KNIVES INCLUDED IN SOME SETS. LIKE MOST KNIVES IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THEY BE WASHED, RINSED AND DRIED BY HAND AFTER EACH USE. AUTO DISHWASHER USE IS NOT RECOMMENDED. KNIVES TREATED WELL WILL NOT RUST GENERALLY. CUTLERY MADE OF MORE EXPENSIVE ALLOYS IS MORE RUST RESISTANT....A SINGLE KNIFE MAY COST MORE THAN THIS ENTIRE SET. IF I USED KNIVES HOURS EACH DAY I WOULD PURCHASE A FINE SET MADE OF GERMAN STEEL ALLOYS. BEST WISHES!
gets rusty very quickly July 27, 2005 B. Saeidi (CA) 8 out of 20 found this review helpful
beware of getting rusty after only few times of use, bought a month ago, got rusty, had to return it. Update: I tried 3 different sets of this product, all 3 sets got rusty quickly. The set looks nice and it is very handy and resonably sharp. That is the reason I tried it, but it gets rusty very quickly. So I never buy Kitchenaid cutlery set.
Beautiful and functional but too expensive July 21, 2005 R. Schneider (Papillion, NE) 8 out of 14 found this review helpful
I went ahead and spent the extra $40 for the silicone handles and kind of wished I hadn't. The set is BEAUTIFUL and the silicone handles provide a great grip, but it really wasn't worth $40! I would buy the regular DuPont handles, but definitely buy the Kitchenaid set. Work great, handy sharpener.
