Product Description The Wusthof 2-Stage Knife Sharpener has a coarse carbide side that sets the knife's edge and a fine ceramic side to finish the edge. The non-slip rubber feet help to keep the sharpener in place for safe use, and the sharpener's small size makes it perfect to take along while camping, fishing, or hunting. The sharpener is designed for both right and left handed use.
Amazon.com Review Some knives are so dull they need a major edge reset; others are pretty sharp already but just need some fine-tuning. This handy pocket sharpener from Wuesthof does both. Clearly labeled Coarse/Carbide and Fine/Ceramic, the two slots on the sharpener let you know which to use. Set the edge on a dull knife with the carbide, then hone with the ceramic; or, simply keep your good knives razor-sharp with the ceramic honing slot. Non-slip inserts on both the top and bottom let you flip the sharpener for the slot choice and keep it steady on a table or countertop during use. The small size of the sharpener makes it easy to tuck into a tackle box or backpack, great for sharpening folding or filleting knives on camping, fishing, and hiking trips. The bright red sharpener also features a key-chain and a textured grip emblazoned with Wuesthof's Trident emblem. --Ann Bieri

ho hum July 26, 2008 no name (usa) Doesn't work well on a Chinese cleaver. At least, not one that hasn't been sharpened in a while. It seemed to take off chunks of the blade so now the blade is sharper but rough and I wonder if little bits of metal might end up in my food.
Very dangerous May 15, 2008 Edward J. Boss (NC USA) There is no way to properly hold this sharpener and it is very easy to cut yourself when using.
Priced for your pocket, but perhaps not sized for you pocket... May 15, 2008 resles_1_ (San Antonio, TX USA) I immediately sharpened my years old folding blade with this and was quite pleased with the results. The size of the sharpener isn't really pocket sized. The dimensions are 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" x 7/8" In layman's terms, it's 2/3 the size of my BlackBerry or roughly equivalent to the size of my Staedtler pencil sharpener. Kind of clunky to call it "pocket" sized, but effective and worth the seven bucks. I bought two.
great for price May 9, 2008 T. N. Webb (Tennessee) to have a sharp collection of knives again for $6 or $7 is great. Many of my knives were unusable before sharpening and now are very sharp. Easy to use.
Works for a quick job. May 2, 2008 Mitchell H. (Austin, Tx United States) This little sharpener works great. However, it is for a quick sharpening. The edge doesn't last as long as I would like it too. So if you don't mind sharpening every other week then you should be ok. It's small and extremely portable.
