2 out of 5 stars sticky little pan   October 6, 2008
Lee Brownell
I've used this pan to make a single egg (the reason I wanted something this small) and even though it is "preseasoned" I've always pammed it and preheated it and the eggs still stick to the bottom. Because it cannot be soaked it is hard to scrub out the egg. It cooked a small piece of salmon well enough, but again it was hard to get clean.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Eggs   October 6, 2008
T. Bagrowski (Delta, PA United States)

I bought this on a Whim, I think it was on Special for less than $8.00

You can't beat Cast Iron, Once it's seasoned properly, even though these are Pre-Seasoned, They just seem to cook better if you season them with oil for a 1/2 hour on Low heat.

This Pan works Great for Frying 1 - 2 Eggs or Sauteing onions, peppers etc..or even frying a single Hamburger. I definitely end up using it more than I thought. Glad I bought it.

5 out of 5 stars Loge Cast Iron Skillet   August 31, 2008

By far cast iron is the best cooking medium we have ever used. The larger items are a little heavy but these blow doors on our all-clad set.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome butter pan on the grill   July 14, 2008
L. F. Slikkers (Grill City IN)
I grill over charcoal several times a week. I use this pan to melt butter that I brush over corn on the cob that I am roasting. The Lodge quality is great and shipping was fast.

4 out of 5 stars Mini Meal-maker.........   May 14, 2008
VC Pro (Virginia, USA)
I was surprised by the size when it arrived. The outer diameter is around 6.5" but the cooking surface is about 4.5". Still, its not too small. Thank God, I thought of getting the miniature skillet instead of this!! I think its good for 1 omelette or cookie or pancake. I'm using it for seasoning spices, called as "Tadka" or "Thaalippu" as in Indian cuisine - very ideal.

But the pre-seasoned finish was more brown than black along with some tiny pores. But then, just after 2 uses, it is trying to look somewhat black with the application of oil. I followed the instructions that came with the skillet. Also, the glue that sticks the instructions card to the skillet came out well as if it was a non-stick pan (Somewhere in some lodge reviews, I read that the glue was scoured out of the pan causing discoloration).

And GUESS WHAT......I got it for FREE....YES, as part of the 4-for-3 promotion. That's the best thing about this skillet. It came in along with 2 other stuff neatly packaged and was on time. THANKS Amazon....
