Product Description
Whether you're cooking potatoes for gnocchi, preparing short ribs or simmering chili, this foolproof electric pressure cooker will accomplish the task up to 70% faster than stovetop cooking methods. Push-button controls and an easy-to-read digital display eliminate guesswork, while a precision thermostat regulates temperatures. Its controls include preprogrammed settings for high- or low-pressure cooking, browning, simmering, sauteing and warming. The housing is brushed stainless steel, and the removable nonstick cooking bowl is dishwasher safe.

5 out of 5 stars WorksVery Well!   October 8, 2008
C. Chun (Southern California)
This pressure cooker worked very well right out of the box. After assemblying the various parts (easy), I was able to make an old family recipe for soup that my father makes with his 6-QT Presto Cooker. The timing for the recipe was exact and translated well with the Cuisinart. I also tried a Short Ribs recipe and it also came out perfect. The recipies provided with the cooker sound delicious and I look forward to trying a few of them.

My only negative (if you can call it a "negative") comment is that you can only program one (1) action (i.e. low pressure, high pressure, simmer, etc) at a time-,meaning, that as soon as one command is completed, you have to program your next command. In other words, it is not possible to do multiple commands from this menu-driven keypad.
Clean-up was a cinch and I store my pressure cooker in a cabinet-be advised that it is a bit heavy so be careful.

I would recommend this to others.

4 out of 5 stars Solid, good all-around pressure cooker   September 30, 2008
Adriana (Laramie, WY United States)
I got this pressure cooker two months ago and so far I think it was a great purchase! I love the look, how easy it is to clean and how user-friendly it is. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is smaller than it looks. You are not supposed to fill it more than 2/3rds of the capacity so its size is deceiving - it fools you into thinking it's pretty large when it isn't. Having said that, I am not sure there are many others that are bigger than this one? I definitely recommend it though.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   September 28, 2008
Happy With Amazon.com (Illinois, USA)
Actually I bought this to cook 5 lbs. of chicken wings quickly to add to my finicky dog's kibble. I was using a slow cooker, but 15 hours of smelling cooking chicken was a bit much. This electric cooker makes the 5 lbs of wings the right consistency to easily remove the bones in about an hour with no fuss - just throw in the wings and water - that's it and if you're away from the kitchen when it's done, it keeps it warm until you're ready. What a marvelous appliance.

Since I got it, I've also made a few meals for myself (BBQ Ribs, Pork Chops and Risotto mixing in left over pork chop) - yummy! Am still getting the hang of it (cooking time, etc.), but I'm extremely pleased with the Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker.

Clean up is a breeze (so what if you have to gently wash the parts in the lid - doesn't take but a minute - and the removable cooking pot goes right into the dishwasher if you want). Have not had any of the problems that others have complained about - just read the directions and experiment.

5 out of 5 stars Great cooker   August 29, 2008

I bought this for my son who likes to cook and I used it when I visited him. I had bought a Nesco in January but this cooker is smaller in size yet holds the same 6 quarts. I had bought the Nesco because it had a slow cooker program and was $50 cheaper. Now I see that I don't need a slowcooker. The Cuisinart is very well made. Is it worth the extra $50? Time will tell but takes up less space on your counter.

Also, Lorna Sass' book, Pressure Perfect, is a must and a great book. The recipes work for any type of pressure cooker. You will need the pressure recipes for what settings should be, pressure release times, etc.
