Amazon.com Review
This heavy-duty pressure cooker's large capacity is probably best utilized for canning (though it would also be great for a number of cooking tasks). A pressure cooker is generally recommended when canning vegetables and nonacid fruit, since the high heat that can be generated will kill more bacteria than a regular hot water bath. Made from cast aluminum, with sturdy screws to seal the lid to the pot, this pressure cooker requires no rubber or plastic gaskets or rings. Its 21-1/2-quart capacity holds 19 pint jars or 7 quart jars. A three-setting pressure regulator valve is included, and the pressure gauge gives a clear reading. Made in Wisconsin, this is an American classic. I--Julija Gelazis/I

Truthfully, as a dedicated canner I had my doubts about anything aluminum! br / br /After doing much research and reading the horror stories of those who purchased canners from other manufatures - I decided to take a chance on the All-American pressure canner with the hope that I the high price paid would be a reflection of the quality of the product. br / br /Fortunately my choice was the right one! I could not be more satisfied with both the quality of the product as well as the ease of use. br / br /I do recommend however that if you have no experience with pressure canning that you take the time read the ENTIRE product and instruction manual so as to become thoroughly acquainted with both the art of pressure canning as well as the proper way to use this canner and avoid any dangerous incidents or food spoilage. br / br /Pressure canning is NOT for dummies! So buy the RIGHT canner and then take your time learning how to use it properly. You won't regret this purchase. br /

I owned an All-American pressure canner 30 years ago and the performance and ease of use is better than ever. I gave away all my canning products when I moved to the big city and lost my garden, but I'm back in the country now and had a bountiful harvest this year. I can feel confident that my homemade spaghetti sauce will taste as good 6 months from now as the day I canned it. But be sure to read all the instructions, it's essential to lubricate the areas shown in the manual to ensure ease of lid removal. I would recommend this product to anyone who's serious about preserving the fruits of their labor.

This is a real quality pressure cooker. It is easy to use. We bought it to use as a canner. However, we have used it to do roasts and other pressure cooking. We have a Kuhn Rikon 7 liter for smaller jobs and this cooker is a good fit for the larger jobs. It will hold 7 quarts or two rows of pints / half-pints. It is simple to use and easy to clean. It is very rugged. If you ever need a part there is a detailed diagram and parts list. The basic instructions are easy to follow and there are good cooking suggestions. br / br /This cooker is first class. It will last a life time.

This is a great product. I've used it several times to put up beans from the garden. This model allows me to put in seven quarts at one time. If I wanted, I could stack fourteen pints into the canner. The metal to metal seal works great and it is easy to get the lid on evenly. The weighted pressure valve is a very safe way to regulate the pressure. I would highly recommend this type of pressure cookers to anyone.

Excellent canner, easy to use, great size, strong looking and it will obviously last forever.. I agree that you wouldn't want to use it on a smooth top stove.. the weight of the canner is pretty significant... we use it outside on the porch, on a propane burner.. absolutely stupid instruction manual though... you learned things on page 17 that you needed to know on page 2.. and it tells you things to NEVER EVER can, but two pages later tells you how to can them... (such as beans) but if you disregard the goofy manual and use other amazing canning books such as "Putting food by" by Janet Greene, you will love it.
