Dolce Gusto or Keurig? The winner is... Dolce Gusto! November 18, 2008 Mrs G (Newport Beach, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I deliberated between the Keurig Breville and the Dolce Gusto and, in fact, bought the Keurig before seeing the Dolce Gusto at Sur La Table. Fortunately, the Keurig never made it's way out of the box. The Keurig definitely offers the most variety in the coffee line and with a pod adapter you can use your own coffee (I happen to be an illy fan so it originally won me over for that reason alone). But I was sold after walking into Sur La Table and asking the rep to demonstrate the Dolce Gusto. The Latte Macchiato was delicious and looked and tasted like it came from a local gourmet coffee shop. Since I'm an occasional latte drinker, the Dolce Gusto turned out to be the perfect machine for me. The only thing I felt slightly misled about is that the cost per drink is 2x for the drinks requiring a milk capsule because 16 capsules yields 8 drinks for $10/box, which is a lot more than the 25 drinks you get from a box of Keurig pods ($10/box). So the cost of the DG is much higher in the longrun. But then again, you can't get the specialty coffee drinks from a Keurig. Since my family members typically order the specialty coffee drinks when we're out, we're going to enjoy the Dolce Gusto for sure!! It's a great machine and looks cool too. I hope they make one out of stainless steel eventually.
the best 1-cup coffee machine on market November 15, 2008 Angela Alvey (ca, usa) I love this machine and so do all of my friends. Sooooooooooo easy to use and clean.
Great Machine -- Great Coffee November 15, 2008 A. Lunder (Corte Madera, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My family gave me one of these for my birthday and I love it. It's a classy machine that makes all kinds of different coffees. Even a techno-klutz like me had no trouble learning to use it. Each cup tastes better than Starbucks and is a fraction of the cost. The coffee grounds are contained in a little cup, so clean-up is simple. It looks nice on my counter, too. I highly recommend it.
I'm in LOVE with the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Machine November 14, 2008 Reba C. White (Houston, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Machine and it is a must have for anyone that enjoys wonderful gourmet coffees. It is not a pricy machine and can stand with the best. The cost is $169.99 and the machine is made by Krups, so I know it is well engineered. The 100% Arabica coffees and Chococinos are made by Nescafe and are SINFULLY GOOD. I made around 130 cups in a 5 hour period for a function the other day, with NO WAITING on HOT WATER and it made beautiful Lattes and Cappuccinos every time.... so IMPRESSEIVE! The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Machine has 15 bars of pressure and it really froths the milk along with giving a hot cup of coffee every time. It also makes the iced coffees too! The 100% Arabica Coffees, Chococinos and milk come in capsules that you just pop in the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Machine, no measuring or grinding of beans and I don't need an extra appliance on the kitchen countertop. I have found that the Espresso and Caffe Lungo will run around .50 cents a cup and the milk base drinks will cost me a few pennies over a dollar a cup, gee... that really beats the price of one of my favorite coffee stops. The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Machine is easy to use, easy to clean and delivers a wonderful impressive drink. I give the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Machine 5 STARS!
Great Cup of Joe--Easy and No Lines! November 14, 2008 D. A. DiGiovanni (San Francisco, CA) I picked up the Dolce Gusto two weeks ago. It makes a stunning cup of espresso, Cap and Lait. So easy, so fast, and no running out on Sunday morning for my sweetheart's cuppa! Highly recommended!
