worked well... for a week October 7, 2007 reader (st. louis, mo) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product worked great for a week. Then, I couldn't get it to turn on. The instructions say to call the manufacturer in the case of problems, so I did so. They told me to press the button really really hard. I pressed it as hard as I could but it would not turn on. Then they said to submit my information (proof of purchase, nature of the problem, etc) to get a new version of the coffee maker which does not have this problem. So, I did so and got a brand new coffee maker. I never got bad service from the seller or the manufacturer, but this product was really sub-standard.
Good coffee, One cup at the time February 8, 2007 A. Reimert (Gilbert, SC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really like this single serve coffee maker. Every cup is steaming hot and good. You can use pods or ground coffee. Excellent !!
Not bad for the low price October 9, 2006 Gerald R. Taft (Anchorage, Alaska USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I really wanted one of the more sophisticated and expensive single cup brewers but his little number caught my eye and the price, paid $20, was very attractive. You get what you pay for and this Proctor-Silex single serve unit does o.k. Some of the 'pods' I have tried are not strong enought for my caffine habit. Folgers dark roast works best so far, Senso pods are not very tastey. I also learned not to exceed six ounces of water with a pod. With the little brew basket you can load in a couple tablespoons and make a bigger, more powerful cup of joe. Works pretty well, about five minutes for a fresh cup. It tends to spit and drip a bit, so keep a paper towel near. For now (two weeks of use) it is satisfactory. Not sure how long it will hold up, looks sort of fragile. Try one, you don't have too much to loose. Nice looking unit but black does not match the rest of kitchen gear.
great coffee maker February 19, 2006 J. Iracheta (Fort Polk, LA USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a great little coffee maker. I was extremely impressed with this item. It works great and is a great value. I keep it in my office and I love it. It is easy to use, easy to clean and works like a machine that costs twice the price. I like the options of using either the pods or regular coffee grounds. I haven't had any problems with this product.
great single cup of joe January 26, 2006 J. Lee (New York) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I received this machine for christmas because my wife knows that i usually get one cup of coffee in the middle of the day at work. This machine is easy to use and works great. It works using the home cafe pods well, but i tried the Melitta java pods, and i got brown water. The Melitta pods state that they are designed exclusively for use with "the one:one coffee maker" You can get most coffee flavors using the Home cafe pods though. Pods may not be the most cost effective way to make coffee, but it sure is easy!
