Product Description
The utmost in simplicity this method allows you to pour hot water directly on the grounds. Gravity takes over from there and in a matter of minutes you have brewed coffee.

3 out of 5 stars Good if you drink all the coffee at once   August 30, 2008
California Dreamer (Edmonds, WA)
We bought this coffee maker after our old electric one died and another coffee maker (the Farberware 4-cup percolator) didn't work out. This Melitta is a nice, simple coffee pot that's fine if you don't mind boiling the water in advance and then drinking all the coffee at once. If you're like us, though, you won't really like having to take out your teapot to boil the water and may not want to drink all the coffee at once. If you have one cup and then go back for another, say, 15 minutes later, the second cup won't be hot--and you can't reheat it on your stove. So, though we liked the simplicity and foolproof nature of this coffee pot, we decided it wasn't really practical for us and returned it.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointed with Ambient Weather   July 4, 2008

While this product might very well make excellent cofffee, we have yet to find out because it arrived to us with the plastic filter part smashed into bits. I of course contacted Ambient Weather, and politely described the situation, and they got back to me right away telling me that I should contact the distributor. I emailed them back to say I was hoping they would do that, since they have a relationship with the distributor, and they emailed me distributor info.

I was surprised they didn't feel any obligation to their customer to correct the situation, which would have entailed one simple phone call to the distributor, asking for a replacement part, especially since the product they represent, and profitted from my ordering, arrived unusable.

I will return this item to Ambient Weather, and don't plan on ordering from them again.

5 out of 5 stars Every College Student should have one   June 7, 2008

When you have the money and want a fancy manual drip maker, you can look at Chemex or Bodum. But, if you want good coffee at a good price, this is it. In our day coffee came in a 16 oz can and we drank whatever was cheapest. Now kids know the difference between Robusta and Arabica and go to a local roaster on the day their regional favorite is being roasted. Fancy Auto-Drip machines don't heat the water hot enough, build up calcium, and don't immerse all the grind correctly. French pots let silt and bitter elements of the coffee through. This method takes some time and effort, but if you like good coffee, its worth it. This coffee maker goes for about the price as a bag of good coffee.

5 out of 5 stars Saves Me Lots of Bread   May 14, 2007

When coffee used to cost 80 cents a cup it wasn't a problem. Now that you need to bring your credit score to Starbucks, I have goneto the brew your own and save route. A co-worker got me hooked on this. You put the filter in and the coffee and than walk to the hot-water button on the water cooler for your nice cup of Joe.

This was for my brother. He was very happy that I found the product from you. We appreciated having expedited shipping as an option.
