Amazon.com Review Great for a one- or two-person home or for a quick pick-me-up at work, the Hamilton Beach Aroma Express coffeemaker offers the capabilities of a full-grown machine in a compact form. Just 10-1/2 inches high, the machine features a wide-mouth water reservoir and a swing-out filter basket for easy access and removal. Hamilton Beach builds in a stop-and-pour feature--so you can get a cup mid-brew--and a power switch that illuminates when the machine is on. The 25-ounce carafe is manageable and tidy, with a generous pour spout and a comfortable handle, while the nonstick hot plate ensures that your second cup is as deliciously hot as the first. Both the filter basket and carafe on this model can go in the dishwasher. --Emily Bedard

Nice small coffee maker! October 14, 2008 Jannie (San Pedro, CA USA) I am thoroughly pleased with this coffeemaker; it is a replacement for the very same one that I had for about 10 years. It pours without dripping, heat element is perfect for producing sipping coffee, and very easy to clean.
Does the job September 30, 2008 Violetta I. Sansone (San Diego County, CA USA) I would have given it 5 stars but it does leak from time to time, maybe once a week to every 10 days I need to change a paper towel from underneath it, which helps a lot if it does leak. Anyhow, I am very satisfied with this machine. I bought it just a little over 5 and a half years ago, that's right, years, in late March 2003, and just now am shopping for a new coffeemaker due to the spring in the basket getting too lose (the one that closes the basket from coffee dripping out if you remove the carafe to pour some coffee before the brew cycle is complete). I am the only coffee drinker in my family so the size is perfect, and I have a couple of those fancy big machines, including Flavia where all you do is insert an individual packet and press a button, super easy, but catch myself using this one every day for over 5 years now, rarely twice a day, I normally go for my Flavia coffee the second time around since it brews much weaker coffee. Do the math, for the price and small size and 5+ years of service I could have not done better with my purchase years ago. I bought it for my master bathroom counter but it found its way to my walk-in-pantry by my kitchen. The size is so small that it sits perfectly on a shelf, yes it is annoying to take carafe our daily to fill it with water and carry used basket to trash to dispose of the filter but it beats seeing it on my counter (the coffeemaker is not very good looking, just basic). I would recommend if you do not expect a $4 quality latte.
Great little coffee maker May 12, 2007 D. S. Sinasac (Cleveland, Ohio, USA) I love this coffee maker!! I have had mine for over 5 years now, use it every day, and it still works great. Matter of fact, I bought a spare when I saw it at an outlet store just in case something happened to the one I had and they happened to stop making them. Advantages: brews more coffee than the regular small coffee makers, can use a regular-sized coffee filter, the swing-out filter holder is easy to remove to dispose of filter and grinds in garbage, the brewed coffee is hot when you pour it (not like other coffee makers where you need to warm your cup to ensure coffee stays hot). Disadvantages: Spilling when pouring from the carafe (easy solution - lift up drip lid before you pour, solves problem), the nonstick coating on heat plate is starting to chip off, hard to clean all the nooks and crannies at the bottom of filter holder. All in all, a great coffee maker, would buy again (oh wait, I already did!). Also, I too like my coffee strong so I'm not sure what another reviewer was talking about. One needs to put a sufficient amount of grounds in to get a proper cup of coffee (check out Alton Brown's comments on matter).
