Product Description For more than a century home cooks and great chefs have cherished their round enamel cast iron ovens. From the stovetop and oven, to its elegant table presentation, Lodge Enamel provides superior cooking performance, versatility, and unparalleled style. When you're finished with your meal simply store your food in the refrigerator or freezer without any concern about food reacting to the porcelain enamel surface.
Amazon.com Review Lodge Color is one of the newest lines from this respected American cast iron cookware company. Traditionally shaped and more affordable than some European brands, Lodge Color enameled cast iron is just as durable, requires no seasoning, and attractively serves at the table. Lodge infuses this 6-quart Dutch oven with two coats of hard-as-nails porcelain enamel, in a choice of several bright colors that are gradated (dark to light) on the exterior, and which are nicely set off by a cream interior. Embellished with concentric circles and a black knob, the lid, which also fits the Lodge Color 11-inch skillet, is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a stew or casserole on the stovetop and finish by baking it in the oven. The 6-quart Dutch oven measures 10-3/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep. Lodge enameled cast iron makes a smart choice due to its versatility-you can marinate raw meats in it, since it won't absorb odors or flavors, and you can braise, saute, simmer, and bake in it. Made in China to Lodge's meticulous specifications, each cookware item is first clad in matte black enamel before the color is added. The black rim that shows on the oven is actually the scratch-resistant matte enamel, not the raw cast iron. Though the Dutch oven is dishwasher-safe, washing by hand is recommended to best preserve the glossy finish. Look also for the pricier Lodge Enamel series, with its unique L-shaped lid knob, in a different set of colors and sizes to suit any kitchen. All Lodge enameled ware is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Solid, large July 22, 2008 Tony Butka (Los Angeles) I wanted a large dutch oven like Le Creuset, without the large price tag. We had previously bought some Dansk Outlet enamelware, but the enamel cracked after 2 years. The Lodge seems to be just the ticket and my wife and I are very pleased -- heavy, well made, and the handle on top works well in the oven at 375.
Lodge colored 6 quart enameled dutch oven July 20, 2008 J. Pugh The dutch oven is perfect for my kitchen. The large size allows me to prepare foods in amounts that can be quickly frozen for later use. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and an asset to me.
I'm having a Fiesta with Lodge! July 14, 2008 Eva L. Smith (Poteau, Ok USA) I have Fiesta dishes and this pot complements them, down to the concentric circle design! I have used this pot several times both on the burner and oven. The porcelin interior allows me to cook acidic foods safely, and clean-up is a breeze. With Lodge, you know you are getting quality.
Well Worth the $ July 11, 2008 S. Miles (Ohio) I haven't cooked in this 6 qt oven just yet but did today for the first time in the 3 qt version. Both sizes appear to be well made and look like they will provide many years of great cooking. I paid $39.99 for the 6 qt and was thrilled with the quality vs cost. I recommend Lodge Dutch Ovens based on the two that I now own. Wasn't able to match the colors but for the $, I'm not complaining.
Great gift! July 7, 2008 Louis Benitez I bought this dutch oven for my sister and she loves it! I had already purchased the 6 and 3qt in the cafe color. The quality, color and price is simply unbeatable!!!
