4 out of 5 stars Melitta One:One   June 15, 2008
Queenie Taylor (South Pasadena, CA United States)
I like this coffeemaker a lot, but there are a couple of points to know about. (1) it spits coffee onto the counter, even with the spout in the lowest position (Melitta's solution to this problem); (2) the water container is pretty flimsy and I expect the lid to break sooner than I would like; (3) you have to learn how to get the water container seated exactly right and it's a little tricky. if you don't, the machine freaks out and won't brew even when the water is in the right position. when this happened to me I unplugged the unit for a while, and then it worked again. The customer service email in the booklet bounced back (of course), so I would have had to call if I couldn't fix it. That said, I like it and it's a decent single serve coffee maker. The coffee is almost hot enough and the taste is ok, but there isn't much choice in this type of coffee maker and I am happy with mine.

My college daughter and her friends have followed the directions NUMEROUS times and cannot get a decent cup of coffee. Don't waste youe $$.

4 out of 5 stars My tea machine - I really like it   February 27, 2008
Laurie A. Costello (outside Harrisburg, PA)
I purchased my first one:one machine about 4 years ago. I just bought three more (one for our beach house, one for the office and a spare for at home). I use it every day to make hot tea. As others have stated in the reviews, the water hopper does not hold much water. For one or two people it is ideal for hot tea because it is much quicker than heating a kettle of water. The tea this makes is much better than the microwave. I do not use the Melitta tea bags - they make very bitter tea. I love the Republic of Tea Breakfast Blend in this machine but any round tea bag works like Tetley British Blend. I use bottled water in my machine and you can refill it while it is running if you need to make several cups of tea. Overall I really like this machine!

4 out of 5 stars Great one cup coffee maker!   February 21, 2008
SweetAngelGC (Salt Lake City, UT)
We just bought this machine in white for a steal of $8! I figured for that price it couldn't hurt to try it. My husband often has a cup of coffee or two before work. With a regular coffee maker we find that we waste a lot of coffee. With the Melitta One:One he can make just a cup or two and it is perfect! We used a couple of different pods with it, the Senseo pods and Folgers.

However, I do agree with some reviewers. It would be nice to be able to brew a larger cup of coffee! Also, the coffee was not as hot as a regular coffee maker usually emits.

For those complaining about not having foam, buy an espresso machine! This is just a straight forward no frills coffee machine!

2 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money   February 3, 2008

I was very dissapointed in this product. I wasted $60 for a leaky machine with very few choices of coffee. Just save up a few more bucks and get yourself a Keurig.
