Amazon.com Review This stylish coffeemaker is the perfect way to start the morning right for any couple on the go. Fill the water reservoir with one or two mugfuls of water, insert a No. 2 paper filter, scoop in some coffee, select the cup setting, take your morning shower, and grab your mug of piping hot coffee as you fly out the door. The unit comes with two stainless-steel, 14-ounce travel mugs into which the coffee is brewed. One or both cups may be used in the machine at once. For those couples with barely a second to spare, the automatic shutoff feature will surely be an asset. --Maile Bohlmann

Great Coffee Maker if you ignore the instructions... April 21, 2008 Peter Wangsness When I first tried the coffee maker I wanted to make a single cup. Following the instructions which have two methods to make a single cup, I filled up the reservoir to the mark that is a black tab and hard to see without a lot of light. I then pressed the 1 cup button and a single light came on. The maker proceeded to brew coffee, but did not stop at one cup. I discovered that the 1 cup button needs to be pressed twice so that both lights come on. Alternately, pressing the bottom button and then the top 1 cup button also will produce a single cup. It seems that two lights equal one cup and one light equals two cups. Confusing no? As mentioned in another review, drinking was a problem as well. Although my cups have vent holes, when any liquid (all of the time) is on the top of the lid it wicks in between the slide and cap. The vent hole is too small and the surface tension of the liquid covers the hole, blocking the air flow, causing the coffee to dribble out. Drilling the vent hole slightly larger cures this problem. Al;l in all, it is well make despite it's quirks.
I LOVE this little coffee maker July 11, 2007 Faith Gold 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
pros: 1. no mess or leak like my proctor silex 2. uses less coffee than my same style melitta for a significantly better cup of coffee. 3 heaping tsp for this machine, 4 for the Melitta. 3. smaller footprint means more counter space for other things. cons: 1. i wish it had a brew to carafe option. that would have made it absolutely perfect.
Wonderful coffee March 23, 2007 Laurence C. Bernon (Chesterland, Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This coffee maker really surprised me with its excellent quality and taste. Easy to set up for 2 quick cups of coffee. Really glad I purchased this before they were gone.
My first Amazon return January 24, 2006 David J. Rizzo (Manassas, VA USA) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
A few times it worked great, but mostly it brewed uneven. I'm not being a nitpicker here... Literally one cup would overflow and the other would be 3 inches below the brim. There was no pattern to it, sometimes it was the left one, sometimes the right one, sometimes neither. Filling the reservoir and seeing where the water level falls is challenging... don't mess up because there are holes in the back and the water will pour right out the back and all over your counter! It only took two days before I realized this was not worth the money or the time.
Great little coffee maker June 20, 2004 Patsy Rose-Simpson (Kansas, USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I'm glad I received my Zojirushi Gourmet Duet Dual-Mug Personal Coffeemaker before I read some of the reviews. My husband and I used ours for the first time yesterday morning and the coffee was fantastic. I have a big 12 cup coffee maker that I may never use again. As a coffee purist, I like my java fresh. I'm a sipper so by time I finish my mug a regular pot of coffee will have been sitting on the warmer for 30 minutes or longer. With the Zojirushi I can make another fresh mug in hardly any time. I have used the 2 cup and 1 cup feature and it worked perfectly. As far as lid problems, I have had none. My lids don't have a slide that closes. Following the instruction I warmed the stainless steel mugs with hot water before using. The coffee stayed hot for a very long time-over and hour. It only has the one drinking hole(no little air hole) but have had no problems; no leaks and comes out easily. It is important to align the lid up correctly on the mug so that it fits snugly. I have to add that I received my "Z" as an incentive from BOCA JAVA. I am very impressed with the coffeemaker and the coffee.
