Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, offers thousands of limited edition and one-of-a-kind gifts, jewelry, and home decor treasures handmade by master artists and artisans throughout the world. Claudia Lira designs a bracelet of dazzling beauty featuring tiny cushions or almohadillas. She casts the bracelet of silver creating a game of contrast between the matte and polished finish. .950 silver rating. Artisan Info: The artistry of Claudia Lira has been featured in Depth magazine. Born April 1, 1973, Claudia Lira studied in Holland's TSU - Vakschool Schoonhoven school. She has worked in jewelry and silver since 1992 and describes her work as an expression of art and design. Motivated to bring new forms and creations to Peru's silver industry, she has taught the trade since 1992 when she assisted in a Netherlands workshop, and today she teaches in her home city of Lima. Striving to transmit freshness, joviality and daring, Lira playfully combines 0.950 rating silver, gemstones, and occasionally 18k gold to express her feelings. Her greatest challenges are to adapt her work to a global market while maintaining her own workshop and boutique. "Original, hand-crafted work has its own special enchantment," she says. "In my case, my work results from a fusion of influences from two continents the Americas and Europe." Lira's unique creations have appeared on fashion runways in Peru and throught Europe. Claudia is pictured with her sister Marliz, who now works with her.
