Overkill for simple pin removal; doesn't work for all watch bands. October 6, 2008 Diastologist (Riverdale, NY USA) Item was well made and is indeed capable of compressing a watch pin to allow adjustment. However, I also tried a roller tip pen tip to compress the spring pin and found it was easier and faster to use. At least on my watch, the major adjustment in band length is not through moving the pin a notch or two, but rather in removing (or adding) links to the band. This adjustment requires a completely different tool to bend open and then close the adjustable steel links.
Easy to Use, Cheap, Time Saving September 28, 2008 Chemical Aggie (Aggieland, TX USA) This watch band remover is durable and easy-to-use. Just follow the arrows when you are pushing the pins out (the pins come out in the direction of the arrow and are placed back in the opposite way), and line up the watch band to where the band is 90 degrees from the tool point. I didn't use any directions and didn't need practicing as some fellow reviewers had said and I didn't break any pins. I think my mom could handle this with ease, and she's not that mechanically inclined. I've adjusted my family and friends' watches and this thing has paid for itself several times over. Plus, you save yourself a trip to the mall or to a jewelry store and lots and lots of time. The seller shipped it in a very timely fashion.
Pin remover - watch band September 25, 2008 Warren Schrick What can you say about a "tool"? If it does its job and seems well made, then the review is good. My only complaint is, is that there where were no illustrations and instructions included. It was trial and error with photos of other similar pin removers for reference. Would have had 5 stars with instructions!
Unnecessary September 4, 2008 Y. Kuznetsov (San Diego, CA United States) I just bought a watch with a metal band yesterday (Casio PAW1300T-7V) and I had to take out four links to fit my arm. All that's needed is a paper clip and small pliers. You just push the end of the pin out with the tip of the paper clip (in the direction of the arrow) and pull it all the way out with pliers. It's easy. I don't see why you'd want to pay $10 + tax for a tool that does it for you.
Works! August 9, 2008 Johan Zain Yes, it works! remember, the pin should be pushed out on the side where the arrow is and pushed back in through the hole next to the arrow as well. to pull out the pin, gently pull it out with needle nosed plyers after using the tool, taking care not to bend the pin. great, simple product. I really like the fact that the pin on the tool is long enough to push out the watch pin enough to pull it out with plyers. The other blue tool they sell on amazon only has a short pin.
