That's why there's Degree Clinical Protection. It's three times more effective than the level of wetness protection required by the FDA.p In fact, you get prescription strength wetness protection without the need for a prescription. Degree Clinical Protection is formulated with innovative TRIsolid body responsive technology, so you have peace-of-mind knowing it's working hardest when you need it most.p table align=left width=300 cellpadding=10 tr td img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/hpc/detail-page/B000VEBBQC-1.jpg" border=0 align=topbrbrspan class="caption"Degree Clinical Protection is formulated to provide clinical wetness protection without the irritation and discomfort caused by prescription anti-perspirants. While resting, the TRIsolid formula acclimates to the body, forming a deep level of protection. This protection lasts throughout the following day, even after a shower. Degree Clinical Protection can also be applied in the morning. The recommended dose for each underarm is 2 clicks.p bWhy apply Degree Clinical Protection at night?/bbr Research shows that body temperature is not constant throughout the day and oscillates in a cycle known as the Circadian Rhythm. Under natural conditions, body temperature oscillates from a nighttime low of 97.7 F to a midday high of 98.9 F. Due to this cycle, skin is more receptive to Degree Clinical Protection while sleeping. This gives the formula time to work and build a strong level of protection for the day ahead.p bHow is the Degree TRIsolid formulation less irritating on skin than a prescription product?/bbr The Degree TRIsolid formulation provides clinical wetness protection without the irritation and discomfort often caused by prescription anti-perspirants. Aluminum Chloride, an acidic ingredient, and alcohols, such as ethanol, are irritating components often found in prescription anti-perspirants. Degree Clinical Protection does not contain any of these ingredients. In fact, the TRIsolid formula contains dimethicone, an advanced skincare ingredient, which is commonly found in baby care products and skin lotions.p bWhat do I do about excess sweating?/bbr Past puberty, axillary (underarm) sweat and odor are normal body functions. Regular anti-perspirants can be effective in reducing normal levels of underarm sweating. However, some people may experience hyperhidrosis, a medical condition otherwise known as excessive sweating. Axillary hyperhidrosis can be a distressing problem and typically requires a stronger form of protection. To learn more about excessive sweating, go to www.antiperspirantsinfo.com or contact your local doctor or physician.p bWhat is the difference between Deodorants and Anti-perspirants?/bbr Normally, body temperature is in balance i.e. the heat generated by the body is the same as the heat leaving the body. However, when more heat is generated this balance shifts and the body becomes too hot. To re-establish the heat equilibrium, the body needs to increase heat output and this is achieved by sweating. Sweating can also occur in emotional situations when a person becomes nervous or embarrassed. Anti-perspirants reduce sweat by controlling the flow of underarm perspiration and masking body odor. Deodorants, on the other hand, prevent odor by using fragrance and by reducing the levels of underarm bacteria. However, deodorants alone do not stop sweating.p bAre anti-perspirants safe?/bbr Anti-perspirants have been used for more than sixty years and the overwhelming weight of evidence indicates that they are safe and effective. Unilever works with leading academic institutions around the world to advance its understanding of sweating and underarm protection to create highly effective and well tested formulations like Degree Clinical Protection. 4 out of 5 stars Better than average protection   October 22, 2008
Roger N. Overton (Anaheim, CA United States)
Simply put, this deodorant does it's job. It has a pleasant smell and it drastically reduces perspiration. For that reason, I use it whenever I know I'm doing something active during the day- such as hiking or helping someone move. br / br /The downside is the feel of it. Instead of feeling perspiration, I feel some awkward gunk under my arms. It also does not wash away easily. It usually takes 2-3 days of regular showering before I no longer feel its presence. This really annoys me, and I almost gave it three stars for it.

3 out of 5 stars Kinda sorta works   September 18, 2008
Scott Bresinger (New York, USA)
Tried wearing it a number of ways to test its effectiveness--under one arm while using my usual deodorant with the other, then switching the next day; under one arm while leaving the other without anything; etc. The results were noticeable but not overwhelming. I was drier with the Degree than without, but not completely. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting to be completely dry anyway, but I'm on the fence as to whether it's worth the extra coin. If your wallet is too heavy, than definitely go for it. br / br /One major plus: the scent is actually subtle for this kind of product. At least no one will say you smell funny...

5 out of 5 stars This stuff works   July 14, 2008
Robert Gamble (Falmouth, MA United States)
Simply put, this product works. I sweat more than average, often times just from walking in 70-75 degree weather. Normal antiperspirants help, but don't do enough for me. With this, I put it on before I go to sleep, and while I still sweat if I exert myself, I stay dry when I do my normal activities.

2 out of 5 stars Seemed like a good idea...   July 6, 2008

Deodorant towels seemed like something my son might like. He's always using those face cleanser towels and deodorant sprays that seem so popular with the adolescent age group. He gave this a try figuring he could use it at the gym or as a "touch-up" during the day. But he didn't like them at all. Besides saying that they didn't work, the towels, while convenient for applying, left his hands all sticky.

3 out of 5 stars Works as advertised.. When you can get it out of the dispenser   June 24, 2008
C. J. Allen
I've been using the Degree Clinical Protection Deodorant for about 6 months now. It works. It's incredible to finally have those pits dry all the time. Clearly not while working out or when you're overall sweating, but it works. br / br /Now, the problem. I've purchased from Amazon about 3 times. In two of the three orders, the product will not dispense.. no matter how many times you twist the bottom. (Yes, the plastic is removed). Extremely frustrasting, and speaks to the manufacturers quality control. The upside is Amazon replaces it right away, and I have it the next day.
