GLICKMAN AND BABBITT WILL MEET WITH WESTERN GOVERNORS TO DISCUSS WILDLAND FIRES
WASHINGTON - U.S. Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman and Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt will meet with six western governors in Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, Sept. 18, to discuss wildland fires and how to minimize the fire threat in the future.
The meeting will be held at the Utah governor's mansion. While the meeting will be closed to the press and public, Glickman, Babbitt and the governors will be available to the media immediately after the meeting.
Governors scheduled to attend include John Kitzhaber of Oregon, Marc Racicot of Montana, Dirk Kempthorne of Idaho, Mike Leavitt of Utah, Jim Geringer of Wyoming and William Janklow of South Dakota.
