Babbitt Will Visit Hanford Reach on Columbia River
Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt will visit the Hanford Reach area of the Columbia River near Pasco, Wash., next week.
"The Hanford Reach is the last free-flowing stretch of the Columbia River," said Babbitt. "We need to look at providing permanent protection to this unique area. My trip to the Hanford Reach is part of that process."
In addition to taking a boat trip on the river, Babbitt will meet publicly with local residents, Native Americans, and elected officials.
