Individual primates display variation in general intelligence

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Scientists at Harvard University have shown, for the first time, that intelligence varies among individual monkeys within a species -- in this case, the cotton-top tamarin.

Why don't women run for office? Less confidence, encouragement

Women have as much success being elected as men but they are not as likely to consider running for office. A groundbreaking study to be published in the American Journal of Political Science found two major factors at work: Women are not as likely as men to view themselves as qualified to hold office, and they are not as likely to receive encouragement from party leaders to become candidates.
